Default Forward swept wing kits??

Hey everyone I am looking to build a forward swept delta style wing. Does anyone know of any quality kits? How about plans? I would much rather build up a kit or even a good arf with some plans available so I can build a spare. I cannot seem to find much information on them anymore. I used to see quite a few online and rarely a few at the field. Any help/suggestions are very much appreciated!

i'm having a hard time picturing what you mean by 'forward swept delta'

A 'delta wing' by definition is one that is triangular shaped, like this:

So by 'forward swept Delta' do you mean that the triangle is reversed so that the straight base of the triangle in at the front and the 'point' of the triangle faces rear? that would be pretty unusual, I don't think I've seen kits for anything like that.

I'm with Jet. There have been are many experimental forward swept wing airplanes but I 'm not aware of a Delta.

Here's a list from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor..._wing_aircraft Y

You must be a glutten for punishment !-LOL

SU-47 pictured here.

I'm sure you can find plans in the foam profile parkjet world out there. Check with rcfoamfighters. http://rcfoamfighters.com/Models/MX-...-Wolverine.htm

Let us know if you find a Delta. Maybe you're on to something. We can send you to Groom Lake to work at Skunkworks !

Here is one I built recently from the wings of a beat up 3d plane. The fuselage is from a styrofoam chuck glider. It does around 70mph and flies very well.

I got the inspiration from Laine in this thread on RCG. I've actually got one of his planes that I'm building right now. PM him, he makes extras to sell. I think he sells the rx ready version for around $100.

Posted via Mobile DeviceThere used to be one - foamy and not a kit (BARF) though. I forget what it was called but it looked like a single fin zagi with a cigar shoved up it's butt.
EDIT: Now I remember, it was called the birdof prey and was manufactured by EdgeRC

http://www.edgerc.com/bop.htm.

Discontined, unfortunately. But you may be able to get your hands on a used one, and I seem to remember someone having reversed engineered a set of plans.

Talk to Lmopar69 over on RCG. He can cut you one of these. He calls it the Cuda and it flies awesome! I love mine.

He is a big fan of forward swept wings and cuts all kinds of them.

Yeah, that's the one I referred to in my post above. I flew one of his at SEFF and I'm in the process of building one for a night flyer right now.

LOL, had to look at your post again, didn't see the part under the pic! Sorry for the double info.

You'll enjoy that little cuda. We flew til about all night at HHAEFI a couple weeks ago. Had a blast with all his "cool" planes!

Wish I lived a little closer to Hodges. 2012 was my first visit to SEFF and it was "magical". I would have loved to have attended HHAEFI, but couldn't. Maybe next year....

Indeed it was! It was the spark that ignited my FSW fire. They look awesome in flight. Nothing else looks like a fsw.

I havent been on here in awhile, but yes, I have some 24" span forward swept planes ready to go right now.

Im also working on a 24" version for a fella that will do well over 100mph. ALSO, designing a 40" version.

Easiest way to get in touch with me is TheSRT10@gmail.com or look me up over on RC Groups.

Thanks for spreading the word for me guys.

Laine.

i built two of these. one for just general flying and the other for speed. they were kitted by Blueskyrc. he's out of the airplane business and into the multi rotor thing.
the "go faster one" blew apart at or around 110 mph. i still have the 'camo" version sitting in the rack.

there maybe a few kits still out there. try searching for SB-28 (Strange Bird 28).
