The power supply's were a nice touch. If I didnt already have one, I would have gotten one.

Yesterday's sale was the first that interested me in a looooooooooong time. I probably would have ended up with a sukhoi if I hadn't debated so long. I wouldn't have debated if I hadn't just ordered a different plane the day before.

Yeah, the power supplies were nice, but still too expensive (even at the Crash Sale price). I bought a Cosel power supply on eBay for $20, and it has been very good to me for 5 years.
The Crash Sale deals just don't seem like good deals. :o |

Here's Hobby Lobby's Crash Sale item for today. First item I've seen in awhile that's worth a second look or maybe even buying. Anyone have anything to say about this one?

I've been waiting years for the WWI Albatros to go on a real sale. At $50 more than a GP Dr.1 I am surprised they sell them at all.

OK, thanks for the info.
One of the guys at the field has one, it looks good & its a very nice flyer. He wrote one of the 4* reviews on HL's web site. EDIT: Ordered the crash sale WACO will see how long it takes to get it or if it turns up on backorder. Got my Senior Telemaster ARF from them & it was a quick delivery. |

I have a Pilot-1 Waco and it is a beautiful ARF! $129 is a great price. It is no good for aerobatics, but it is such a pretty airplane in the air
The instructions are silent on this, but you will have to add weight to the nose to get the CG forward enough for stable flight. I was not happy with the way it flew until I got the CG right. |

Pat said he had to add 3oz to the nose to get the CG right.

Went down to the shop and picked me one up, too.
Had $10 in "Hobby Lobby Cash" to use on it, which almost negated the 9.25% local sales tax, so I walked away spending $131 and some change.Doug, I remember you getting this one put together quite a while back when we were talking about Suppo motors a bunch. I might have to pick your brain on it a little bit. I'm hoping it looks as good in the air as it does on the box! I saw some guys paint theirs up in different schemes on RCG, and they looked fantastic. You can also get a "US Mail" graphics set for these from Callie's Graphics. They look sharp! http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...&#post11355408

In a moment of weakness, I picked up an FMS F-16 on Crash Sale yesterday
By the time I ordered, all they had left were the airframe only kits, so now it's off to HK to load up a cart full of EDF stuff

This wasn't from the crash sale, but I just picked up a mig 15 from the sidewalk sale rx ready for 15 bucks. Now that is a bargain.

I don't even bother looking at their sales anymore, as the pricing is just a bit closer to what is should be, that's all.

Agreed. The crash sale used to really mean something, but no more.
I can remember getting up early just to be one of the first in line to buy treasures at over half off. A couple hours later they'd be outta stock because the prices were so good. Ah, the good old days... |
