can phone app doppler be used on a laptop computer?

hey gang,i don't own a ipad,smartphone,android,or any fancy phone that can download an app that allows the phone to be used to measure speed via doppler. i read a very long thread on this subject over at rcgroups[43 pages] ,but only phones were disscused. i have to get a new password to ask the question there,but prefer the folks here.

if this program can be downloaded onto a laptop,there's a microphone jack to use a mic to p/u the sound....i would think the screen will show the speed like the phones do...or not.

does this really cool feature only work thru phones? thanks ,stu

Hi Stu ...

The RCSpeedo app works on PC and that one is FREE !

It is by far the best of all the PC based doppler apps.

The only problem is that it listens to an MP3 file played by the PC ... it cannot listen via the mic to an outside source. This means that you have to either record the sound or video for later playback. A video would need to have it's soundtrack cut to an MP3 file ... very easy in fact using such a free program as "Freemake Video Converter".

I use this one a lot as well as the Android version. The android version I use mostly to listen to videos of flights !! Out in the field - it works but usually I'm on the sticks and it's difficult to hold both Tx and Phone !!
