Also, how fast can an Eneloop (or it's possible clone) be charged ("C" rating)? Assuming the charger being used is one that is engineered for fast/peak charging, I mean. Like the ones we use for our flight batteries (on NiMH setting, naturally. )I was thinking if I could find some of those teeny-tiny connectors used for the Hitec TX packs I could make a TX-pack -> Deans adapter and charge them on my regular charger. The long shelf life (plus perhaps a spare or two) would mean one less thing I would have to do the night before a flying day. Posted via Mobile Device |

I've bought some. I haven't tested them but they seem to work as well as my eneloops. I charge both at 700ma with a La Cross BC-700.

There are a decent number of the limited self discharge (LSD) NiMh out now. Some are re-branded Eneloops, but most are made in China. Most are better than stock NiMh by a good bit, a few give Eneloops a run for first place. Eneloops still seem to hold onto the lead for long term reliability, but like lipos that's a VERY difficult parameter to measure in real life.
2010 AA Low Self Discharge battery review I charge at 500-1000mA. You don't want to fast charge them. |

fly
If you're going to learn to fly them, you have to learn to fix them. |

I am such an idiot! Here I've had My Venom Pro charger for a year and a half now, and it came with a JST plug adapter! Granted the pins were "hooded", but a little careful knife work took care of that. I charged my regular NiMH TX packs with it, each at 1C, and they barely even got warm.
So now that I know that will work, can anybody direct me to a tutorial or thread on how to properly solder together nickel cells? Posted via Mobile Device |
