Looks like you all had a good time. Wish I could have come.
I finished the SE5. I flew it Saturday morning, but It's a little tail heavy. First flight with a 2800 3 cell, it was very tail heavy, I didn't think I was going to get it down in one piece. On the second flight, I put the 4000 3 cell in it, pushed all the way forward. It flew a lot better, but still a little tail heavy. I will cut out the cowl some more, and see if I cane get the CG another inch forward. Doug, We need to get our SE5s together, It's time for Dawn patrol! |

I'll try to get organized get and out there soon some Saturday AM. What SE5 did you get? Got any pics? Must be larger than my Great Planes one - I just run a little 1500 3S in it. I think it's a 34" wingspan. Got a couple of the new #16 808 keychain cameras today with the new "type D" lens. Lens supports up to a 120 degree FOV. But the internal sensor in the 808 can only handle up to 90 degrees. Still about a 50% increase over the old #16 808 standard lens cameras. Check it out. Not too bad for a $43 camera shipped to your door from Hong Kong, huh? https://vimeo.com/52970338 |

Thanks Jim. It's on a little SPT50 pan/tilt mount from Servo City
http://www.servocity.com/html/spt50_...an___tilt.html I'm only using the pan part of the mount. I originally set it up with the tilt portion but it was just too much extra overhead and I didn't see the tilt portion doing all that much good. I used a standard GoPro mount to hold the 808 camera. This flight was actually a bit over 20 minutes. There was a stiff but steady wind coming out of the northwest and it was providing tons of lift. I have a 1800 3S battery in it and I only used up about 250 mAh. |

It's been a while since i posted any comments on Wattflyer, but i think its time to say: I can't believe that "smart"
people have wasted so much time talking about, who started what! It's a field and a bunch of old guys and some young guys go out and waste their mornings or escape the wives. In Kenny's case i think the count is 5 ex-wives. It's just a place and our wives don't mind cause were not hanging out, or spendig our money, at the T y bars( excluding Kenny ). I hope we can continue to have a great time, without rules, even if it does cause some people a little indigestion.

I'm still having problems finding the best CG, but I've been trying to fly it in pretty high winds. I need a calm day to really figure out what's going on.

Anyone interested in a brand new 59" 3DHS Slick with everything?
http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/59-Slick-...e_p_15865.html I have yet to complete the build but have everything. I forgot if I have a receiver for it. But I can check. If anyone is somewhat interested, I'd be happy to take a pics of all the equipment. I'm not looking for lots of cash, I'm willing to make a deal as I'd like to use the funds to support my growing Heli addiction. Thanks! Just shoot me a PM on here. |

Hey guys -- I still have some stock that never sold, and (for various reasons -- see below) I don't want to keep it. Therefore, I'm GIVING IT ALL AWAY!!!
Just send me an e-mail with your (Christmas) wish list, and if I still have it in stock, it's yours. Why am I giving away my stock? Because: 1) It didn't sell. 2) I am closing my business as of December 31, 2012. 3) I don't want to pay taxes on it. 4) I'm moving to a different city, and don't want to take it with me. Again -- thanks for your continued support over the last several years.

All the regulars here know that I always do a "Christmas video" of my airplanes. So here's this year's addition of my "hangar" of R/C airplanes. This time to a little classic Frank Sinatra music.
Hope you enjoy.... https://vimeo.com/54651066 |

We still need to get our SE5a's together, if this wind would let up. I'm still having problems getting it to fly right. I've moved the CG up, and back, but it still fells wierd. Do you think the wires between the wings could be creating too much drag? |

The videos were not very good, it was too fast, and too close. You might see a plane every 5 seconds, but only for a fraction of a second.
When we have more pilots, I will fly out further and be able to keep the battle in the frame longer. |

Gonna keep the 59 Slick... I want to finish it and get it airborn! Been working on the Crack Yak. Had a bad Hacker motor out of the box. Cost me some damage up front and then I found soldering irons an foam don't mix. I think I'm just gonna get another one. I already cut the landing gear out. I'm not the best builder and I don't know why. I like to screw things up for some reason. I just need more practice. Hopefully the 2nd Crack Yak doesn't have any builder inflicted issues.
![]() Oh yeah, and as soon as I can find one of those new E-Flite Edge 540QQ 280. I'm getting one. That thing is sweet! Hopefully much of the building is done for me.

James it's good to see you on Wattflyer again, when can we expect to see you at the field?
The SE5 is under repair, I had a rough landing the last time I flew it. Broke some struts, bent the gear, pulled out all of the wires between the wings. Before the bad landing, it was flying pretty good, but I think it is still tail heavy. I may have to add some lead to the nose after I get it fixed. |

I hate to hear that about the new bird, it's always a bummer to add dead weight to a plane.
I'm starting to get around better after the back surgery but I don't know if I'm feeling good enough to go flying yet. Maybe in a couple more weeks. |

Merry Christmas to all the non-members of the non-exsistant UnClub.
Hope all you guys are having the best Christmas, and the New Year is good to each of you and your families. Since the world did not end on 12/21/12 as predicted , lets hope that 2013 turns out to be a great year for our hobby . Now, go out and get your assault rifles, you always wanted, before a new ban is put into effect. ![]() Ho! Ho! Ho! |
