...went ahead and got another one for my big Jug, should be here sometime next week, got this one stateside in Indiana for exactly twice what they cost direct from China, AND the new Double Horse 9117, basically the 9116 in the same size as the 9104, and 4 channel like the '16, that'll be here Monday, but Wifey says I can open it 'til my Birthday in December (9th), so I don't have to wait too long...

Arrived home this evening and pulled the Coachman from the Man Cave to add the Orange. Had to pull the receiver from the MFX I've been flying and install it back into the Coachman. Thank goodness I kept the plane in my transmitters memory. Drilled a 1/2" hole in the bottom and ran the wires from the Orange to the receiver. Unfortunately I ran out of time as Darlene called me in for dinner and then off to the mall to winterize my grand daughters wardrobe. Ouch! $$'s I can't believe the price of kids clothes these days. I should be able to get back in the shop later this week and put the Watt meter on and check it out. I'll get you guys some images as soon as I can of how I mounted it.

Kindly bare with me today as I had my eyes dilated today and every thing is really bright. I should have waited before pulling the trigger. Also has AUX which means you can turn it on and off in flight via the gear channel or another assigned switch. Looks like they totally added a complete functionality to the product. AWESOME! If I can leave enough hints it will show up in my Christmas Stocking.

So it held it pretty steady in 10 to 15mph? Very good, veeeeery good...now that I once again have a vehicle, I'm thinking I should charge up a few LiPos, and FINALLY put up the 750mm P47, see how this thing flies...

OK have this thing mounted to the bottom of the Coachman. I wanted to be able to adjust it easily so my option was the bottom. Three batteries charged just waiting on the forth. Tomorrow promises to be another one of those perfect days again. I want to check it on up lines so the Coachman should be the perfect vehicle.

Well yesterday was a blast. This thing is neat as the Coachman would track almost straight up lines with very little rudder input from me. What an awesome device. It is still a little more sensitive than I like but I should be able to tune that down on Thursday. Working this weekend and have training starting Monday on some sort of new way to do the internet. That should be entertaining.

I got the other one I just got put in the big plane, and the adjustments from the shipper were spot-on...same as the 750, didn't have to touch anything except hook it all up! Now I just need to get myself to this HUGE turf farm where the owner lets guys with electric planes fly...he used to let the gasser guys fly there, but the R.I. E.P.A. frowned on all the nitro fuel getting spilled everywhere so the State more or less threw them off private property, but then they do that a lot here, i.e., go where they ain't invited...

Because HK produce the V2 stabilizer themselves there won't be a long backorder wait like other types. I saw they were on BO but by the time I ordered one they were in stock again all within a day or two. So I ordered 2 of them. They have just posted them. woohoo.

Yeah, they sell pretty quick. A couple months ago they got like 200 of them, and they were gone that day, I had a HELL of a time getting mine, but finally did, then I got so sick of them being out of stock I bought another one stateside off ebay for exactly twice what H.K. charges, but it's STILL worth it I think. They're a pretty kool little thing to have for your plane I happen to think, and so far, reports have been positive for the guys who have been able to fly, I ain't going out there yet, it's too cold...

Mate, It's too HOT to fly here.... lol
I guess we're lucky that way, we can fly all year round. Never get snow and where I live we never get frost although some areas a few klms away do at times. |

We don't get "snow"...per se? What we get is this wet, slushy, icy, mess basically because we're right on the coast where I am, and when they threaten with Winter weather, I just break out the rock salt, and start-a-broadcastin'!! I think the last appreciable snow we had was back in 2010, we got almost 2 feet in one storm.

Didn't get a chance to get out this week as I had a maintenance chemo treatment. This one put me down a bit with a foggie head and feeling weak. Bones said it was the drug building up in the body so were looking at 4 more reduced maintenance treatments and then it will be to a "Watch and Wait". Nice part is I've been free for 20 months now and feeling better all the time. At least I can walk 2 miles now without having to stop and rest every 100 feet.
Should be able to get out Thursday and try the stabilizer again. Looking forward to some wind. |

OK, got a Turnigy 5A (8-40v) SBEC for Lipo for the big plane...is this too much for what I need, or not enough? I have Kyle's schematic for setting it up, just gotta get everything I need together, a clear table, and git 'er done!
