Cool, hope to see ya there soon. I work in Rose Canyon and it would be so convenient to just throw a plane in my car in the AM and go flying for an hour or so after work. I live in Oceanside and the closest club we have is the Palomar Flyers who are basically all gas. I just don't want to fool around with fuel. Been there, done that with cars. Too messy.

I'm feeling you may. Someone with the name of Helen, cant spell Hello.... so close yet so far away. Chuck, Xmech Hit me up when at the field, I drive the Maroon Nissan Titan with Camper. I'm there Tues/Thurs/Sat most regularly. I run the monthly Electroglide contest, and most of the montly club events (with free lunch!) I currently live in Davidson, NC (10 miles north of Charlotte) and am a member of the Flying Aces Pilots Association at the local field (as well as AMA). I realized my passion for flying while working at a local airfield in Columbia, SC and learned to fly Cessna 152 and 172's. I since have found I prefer to keep my feet on the ground but still love flying so RC was perfect! My first plane was a $15 3-channel Sunfire that my wife found at Marshall's. One flight and the wing folded on itself and it promptly became a lawn-dart. But, I was hooked. Next was a 5-channel 55" AirField Cessna, then a 6-channel AT-6, then a 48" Edge 540 foamy, and a 73" Piper Cub (which is being converted to electric). All are still surviving other than a few hard knocks. Of course the Christmas list has a Balsa Edge 540 from 3D Hobby Shop..... I look forward to trolling the boards here to keep learning everything I dont know.....and maybe even being able to answer a question or two. |

Hello FISH HAWK
Forget the GREAT LOOKING PLANES. Go for something simeple for learning. Get a instructor to help you. DO NOT TRY TO FLY FIRST [NO SELF LEARNING]. I do always suggest this great learning and low cost plane Multiplex [EasyStar II], or the knock off of this plane BIXLER. You just cannot go wrong with these two planes. Find their Thread site and go for it. look at www.headsuprc.com out of Fl. Great help. SARG5 from Kansas |
