1'st get a UBEC to handle the power for them and servos as the ESC won't have enough amps, Get the 3m color strips and white strips, my color ones are 12V and the white 4-5V, hookup the white ones to the RX and the color ones to to a "Y" adpt from the 3-cell lipo give them 12V, (RX puts out 4-5V plug into any extra ch)
This is what I fly on mine (4-years old now), there maybe Newer set-ups but mines simple an sweet The black thing on tops a 5 LED flashing Cap0lite,, Fun stuff , bubsteve

Color strips are fine but for the beginning even a few leds at the wing tips, the middle and at least one pointing back are enough. RK |

My white led's from HK are 5V, I also have blinkers and strobs that need 15 Ohm resisters in line , the blinkers are 3V and have Adpts,, I just gave him the simple set-up,
Look on HK website at the white 5V ones,, they are there![]() bubsteve |

I have a set of 3.3volt ones from HK-they are bright, but only have 1 light every 3 inches on the strip. They also reuire you to use the voltage regulator to give them the 3.3volts they need.
I just bought nearly 100 feet of various colors froma vendor on Amazon. They are 12 volt, already have the current limiters attached, and have 3 LED's every couple of inches. They are almost as bright as the HK ones, and have 3m tape on the back side for attachment. They will run off a typical 3s flight battery, but as the voltage goes down they will dim slightly. They are advertised to comsume around 1.75 amps for every 5 meters. If you have room and ability to carry the extra weight, I'd power them by their own small battery. http://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Strip...ed+light+strip In theory you can get any LED lights or strips and use them. The key things to look for is their operating voltage, and that they come with current limiters. |
