are the rest of the channels all binary? On/Off?? are there way to make them linear like a rudder control or elevator? Thanks. Scott

Yes, they can be on pots (knobs) or sliders. Useful for flaps, spoilers, gyros, etc. in addition to two or three position switches.

SomeTX have those features, usually higher end or geared toward gliders. Most basic TX do not-on/off is what you get.
I suppose they are potentially upgradeable but I doubt worth the expense and effort.

Quite a few Txs have rotary controls on some of the extra channels. Some also have 3 position switches to give off/half way on/fully on and others allow you to assign a channel to either a switch or rotary control. It varies a lot .

Working on a spoiler design that incorporates a servo arm as the control and was thinking of a multiple level of deployed...as I think about it though it might be better as on and off...but still, having it variable can be good too.

Having spoilers or flaps on a pot is really nice to sort things out. You can test several settings in one flight. Once you've determined good levels, you can transfer those settings to a switch.
