More weight, faster landing speed, more strain on the gear. Simple fact. But to answer your question, they can handle a lot of weight. My last one I had set up to run 2 ways. One used a 3S3700 pack, the other a pair of 3S2200's for a 6S set up. Even had electric retracts, and working flaps, for more weight. Plane had a higher landing speed, but flew like the weight wasn't there. |

NJ You have not seen my T28 for awhile. Currently running a Power 32 motor on a 4S 2600 battery turning an APC 11x7. Ok it's not pulling 800 W but it moves along nicely. Hope things are good for you out there |

My T28 has been hanging in the garage for the whole season and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. It's pretty beaten up, so I don't think anyone wants to buy it, so I've been thinking of giving it to one of the younger pilots as a trainer. Then again, fitting it with some absolutely ridiculous power may be fun. I have a Turnigy SK3 3458 I could use. That should pull some serious power on a 12x8 and a 4s... Probably 600-700W. Sounds like stupid fun to me!

The extra power is fun. You can tell mine has been through the wars as well. I converted to a tail dragger because I was tired of fixing the nose gear. Also epoxied the wing into the fuse and retaped the hinge points on the elevators to make sure we all come back in the same piece we go up. I set it up to use as a pylon racer but have not actually raced it as yet.
I think I recall someone else used that SK motor on a T28 and had very nice results. Go for it!! No flying here tomorrow most likely. Rain in the morning, windy in the pm. Hoping to get out Sunday Catch you later |

Guys,
The BIND PLUG got jammed and caused damage to the AR600 circuit board underneath the pins. Whenever you need to use pliers then, the possibility of your Receiver to get damage is pretty high. I am just alerting all of you out there to be careful with inserting BIND plugs. If it is not going in smoothing then, do not insert. My oldest T-28 NAVY is flying with the Castle Creations BERG 4-Channel DSP 72Mhz FM Modulation Receiver and controlled by the JR XP-7202 with fantastic results and if the AIRFORCE will be repaired back to flight worthy condition then, this is exactly how the model will be flown in the future. GOODBY Spektrum for me....all I am saying..... Okay a few pictures! First, there were about 3 other models beside mine that crashed (The Gods were angry !) One of which I did not take a picture as the owner left in a hurry due to the shock!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are some wide angled Pictures of my T-28D Airforce Post Crash: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Battery was the Hammer and survived well. ![]()

Some closeup pictures of the E-Flite 30-AMP ESC Crash Damage and AR600.
This model hit mother Earth with such a force that the E-Flite 30-AMP ESC got completely distorted and MECHANICALLY Blew UP as I found the Aluminum Plate that is glued on the FETs a few feet away! ![]() ![]() After Bending it back a little...... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Using a powerful light and magnifying glass, Mark and I found the BIND pins on the AR600 Bent and Circuit board with a noticeable layer that was not right and perhaps caused a bad situation in the air after 25 seconds.

Hi Guys!
Well, this morning I was determined to make a Video with my newest Keychain Camera and considering it was very overcast / Cloudy and super windy with high gusts in the 12 - 15 MPH, the model performed just majestically! Because of using the Park Zone 15, the model is exactly 6oz. heavier than the stock setup. Power System Setup: - Park Zone 15 (950Kv) identical motor that comes in PZ Spitfire Mk IX - E-Flite 30-AMP Switch Mode ESC - APC "E" 9 X 7.5 Propeller - Turnigy 3-Cell, 2200mAH, 25C, Li-POLYs - Everything else stardard and stock https://vimeo.com/55560056 |

Guapo,
Looked like at least 20. Courageous flying ! I'm testing a Blue light gyro in mine as we have these kind of conditions regularly in North Texas. I'm also now running 4S and testing a number of different props including a 9x7,9x8, and even an 8x8. Put in a HURC 450 w/ 50 amp esc. |

I have the BL ICE-Man in my T28 to help handle the Kansas winds. My next MOD is a 3 blade 9x7.5 prop for a little more scale look.

Enjoyed today's flight sessions with my 6+ Year old Park Zone T-28 NAVY with the Park Zone 15 Power (950Kv) and same motor that comes in the Park Zone Spitfire Mk IX.
It was very windy and the model did perfect considering the gusty winds. The Video! https://vimeo.com/55726966 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi every one ... I'm new to this forum and revisiting a passion of my youth back in England - hooked myself up with this little (by 1970 standards anyways..) bird..
I have flown it once so far - couldn't find a very large field - so the maiden resulted in 40 seconds of flight (including a few non-deliberate maneuvers) before I landed well downwind, breaking the 3 blade prop and bruising a leading edge or two! I felt this model was a tad underpowered with a 2S lipo so back at base I fitted a 3S 850 mah and removed the undercarriage as well as reinforcing the fragile cowling. She awaits her second flight.. I was pleased with the trim of this model but then again I had a 2 axis gyro installed, got the CG spot on I think. Anyone fly foamys in the Carlsbad area - other than off the cliffs in South Carlsbad? I would like to find a more relaxed (larger) area to fly than next to Ponto for my next effort.. Great fun all the same. I also joined the AMA but dont have the funds for a model flying club at the moment. Billy

Billy, you are welcome to fly with us at the Oceanside Senior Center located off of Oceanside Blvd at Rancho Del Oro Rd. We have guys who fly there almost every day of the week, weather permitting. Most of us fly on Saturdays and Sundays beginning around 7:30 am until around 11 or so or until the wind picks up significantly. Most of us fly foam but a couple of the guys have balsa models. Our oldest pilot is 83 and our youngest is 45. We have permission to fly there and almost all of us are AMA members. Come on out.
