Very Nice! I like your thoughtful use of existing market items. I flew my Eindeker a few years back until it finally was wore out. It was built with Depron fuselage and with the full body GWS Little Stik wing lengthened. I miss it but moved on.

I am always looking for parts and pieces someone wants to throw away. I found the SS wings on free thread and was luckly enough to be the first to ask for them. When the old M1C finally came out of the tree in several pieces none of the foam was good, weather had pitted it bad. All RC parts were usable. The cowl, cockpit surround, nylon wing spars, and control horns from the old plane are on the new one. I never found the pilot, spinner, or the other set of nylon wing spars. I seem to loose most of my planes in about the same area of the woods. Mabe I will find more parts one of these days. The leaves should be off the trees in another week or so and I will be looking for my SE5A about the same place. LOL I only have a short window to go looking, I stay out of the woods during deer season.

I am trying to imagine the work and I think I understand. The FFF added to the trailing edge made the wing wider. The pink FFF ), normally 1/4" think also, thicken the wing blanks, and bonded to the added blu-core. That would make for a great way to ensure the added foam butt joints wouldn't prove to be weak. Then you cut for shape and sanded down the top pink foam to suggest ribs with dips, normal to a fabric and doped covering. Hope I got that right.

The blue foam I used had been split in half so it was about the same thickness as the trailing edge of the SS wing. I put a strip of CF in the glue joint. The SS wing already had rib shape in the wing so I did not have to sand them in. I used pink foam butt joined to the end of the SS wing, then cut the wing end to shape. The M1C has a lot of curve on the leading edge at the end of the wing and if I cut the SS wing without adding foam the leading edge becomes too high. After cutting the wing tip I sanded the pink foam into airfoil shape. I have a CG arrow shaft as a front spar to make the wings stiff. I used Gorilla glue for butt joints and never have any trouble with them.

I would not go into the woods here during deer season if I was wearing a flashing neon light. A few years back I found an arrow sticking out of the side of my house. I guess my house looks like a deer, a white one. Then again maybe they saw me move in the house and thought I was a deer cause the arrow was just below the window.

Cool this morning but no wind. I took the M1C for its crash test and it flucked. It flys great. Only needed slight change in trim tabs on TX to make it fly hands off. It flys at half throtle real nice.

I have watched your reports over the years. I just love all your planes and work. These last 2 videos are so refreshing. I am not sure which I like best. I think I like them all from the beginning.. I would like to see all your planes someday if I could. Maybe there will be a day you could treat us all to a compilation of pics or videos.
