Thanks. There is a whole lot more to it than rc cars after reading that link! The 10x4.7 prop is fine with the 1250mah 15c 3s right? I don't want to burn anything up.

Lipo Battery 1250mah =1.25 amps x 15C rated = 18.75 amp Battery Lipo Battery 2070mah = 2.07 amps x 25C rated = 51.75 amp Battery Just Remember High KV motor use small prop because a high KV motor will draw lots of Amps. Low KV Motor use Large prop, as a low KV motor wont draw a lot of Amps like a High KV Motor will. |

Anywhere from a 1200mAh 3S to a 2200mAh 3S should work fine. You'll have to adjust your CG accordingly.

I have run a 1000 mah 3 cell, several different 1300, 1500 1800 and 2200mah batteries, all 3 cell on my slowstick.
I also currently switch between both the slowfly and sport powerup 450 motors like chelle linked you to. I personally enjoy the sport motor more, but the slow fly is fine if you fly at 1/2 throttle or less. I find the flight times to be about the same between them, though the sport motor uses a slightly smaller 10" prop and give a bit more top end. The eflight motor you have will work fine, and with a 2200ish sized lipo, I commonly get 30 minute flights with ny biplane configuration. With the single wing, I did have some 45+ minute flights doing nice and easy touch and goes. I like to put my servo's all the way back against the tail so you have more room around the front of the plane to move the batteries around to adjust cg, rather then sliding the wing. This way you should be able to use all of your 3 cells quite easily. The slow stick is a very adaptable and fun park flying, but you'll feel the need for a better plane before too long. But nothing is better then a 5 minute walk to the park with a handfull of batteries. If you would like any pictures or advice, feel free to ask away. |

Thanks everyone. I just thought the 2070 3 cell felt kinda heavy for the Slow stick. Guess i was just use to the 2 cell 1350 and a brushed motor. I flew a lot about 7-8 years ago and got out of it for a little while and decided to get this slow stick. I'm glad I got a slow stick and not a sport plain like I almost did. I was pretty rusty at flying. After I fly this one for a while I'll move on and save this one for the park down the street.

It is a bit heavy honestly. I feel it fliest best in the 1300-1500 range. A 1000mah 3 cell is awesome for power, but has very little flying time. My dad used to fly his on a 800 3cell from a helicopter, and really liked that setup.
I personally adore the long flighttimes of a 1800-2200mah battery, but that it just personal choice. The slow stick was designed around reletively light compnents. If your okay with a 5-10 minute flight, a 1000mah works well, but a good standard seems to be a 1300mah. |

One of the neat things about the SS is it will fly pretty well with a wide range of battery choices. I've flown mine with a 1200 3s up to a 1500 3s. It flies a long time on a 1800 2s. Just adjust your cg. I have a 1300 kv and a 10X4.7

Thanks for all the help! I flew it for the first time today with the brushless setup with the 2070mah 3 cell. All I can say is wow huge difference. I can actually fly it with a little breeze now and it's so much quieter! Now I need to reinforce the wings. I did a loop and I could see them flex a lot. Oh and I bought myself a early Christmas present today. A dx6i

It should go vertical as is. Mine did with a 400 class motor and about 140watts.

Bigger props generally mean more thrust, as well as lower pitch. I like about a 10X3.8 sf. I'd be careful with prop sizes if you dan't have a wattmeter. These electrics will cook with too much current running through them.

Mine with a Emax 2822, 10X4 and 1250 3s lipo will jump off the ground in less than 3' and go near vertical for 50' or so. Maybe more but I always back off the throttle. After all it's a Slow Stick!
![]() btw--that big battery you're using adds a lot of weight. A smaller 3s will help your help your vertical performance. And yes a wattmeter will help you choose the right prop for your motor and keep your current draw within what your esc and battery needs. |

I have a 1500 3s I havent tried yet and a 1800 3s on its way in the mail. I'll try the 1500 tomorrow. I did notice I have to keep the speed up carrying that heavy battery. The only plus to it is the 35 min run time.
