Have looked at this one several times. Only Profile. At least that is all I found.

What i usually do is take the profile plan and then make a pattern for a full fuse.
once i bend the pattern into a double sided i make formers for it and glue it up.
Maybe not as accurate as you would like or as easy but it works for me.

This was a flat foamy that jurgen made into a full size fuse .You just have to figure out some fuse formers and then fill in the top and bottom. joe

Did the maiden this morning and she flew fine but a little fast for this area surrounded
by Jackpines. I had more wind than anticipated and got anxious to bring her in so i banked her and came in to the center of the yard at an angle and did some damage to
her but all repaired now and she should be ok to go again when the weather is right.

Fighters are not to forgiving on cross wind landings guy , they are not built to be
slow flyers or they go fast turn real tight but will tip stall real quick to !!!!!

I built a top flight AT-6 with a 90 four cycle in it ,flaps and alll the scale goodys. If i looked at it wrong it would try to tip stall but as far as flying it over 1/2 throttle it flew great. It would tip stall at high speeds when to much elev was used and it would try to stall at slow landing speeds too. After a year of getting use to her bad habbits i got kinda use to it . I sold it to a warbird nut 3 years ago and its one plane that i wont ever miss. BTW I told the warbird nut about its bad habbits and he is still flying it and loves the cranky old bird. joe

I haven't ver built an AT-6 but i thought they were supposed to be good flyers?

The first top flight kits were real close to scale and that means scale wings also but now their arf and kits have changed the wing desighn so it does not snap so easy . As far as my flying i use to compete in pattern and pylon and flew at the world nats in Muncie in the late 70's . I cant fly like i use to but i can still fly better than most.lol joe

all need Dihedral added when you build kits or fly arfs they never seem to put enough in the outer wing pannels for slow landings unless you build it with flaps and some wasout in the tips -just from building a couple for other guys before !Have a great NewYears guys !!

Okay,

The "B" Model airliner is near ready for maiden. It's basically a bashed Air Hogs Glider you can buy for $10.00 at Wal-Mart. The "A" model I made last summer was not my best effort. Technically, not a scratch because I started with the basic foam airframe design but there was probably as much carving, sawing, drilling, gluing , wiring, etc as anything I've ever attempted.

Main features:
- ~ 42" WS x ~32" long
- Twin 66mm eflight edf's w/ 30 amp esc's ( Like the new Honda Jet)
- UBEC
- Ailerons
- Rudder ( y connected to nose gear steering servo )
- Servoless retracts with oleo struts
- Nav and landing lights. Will take picture in dark.
Have not measured AUW yet.

Lot's of wiring in this baby. Tail section from a trashed balsa plane. Running 2200 3S 25C thin Zippy. All electrics check out. Plenty of thrust. Need a paved runway and a nice day.

I had all of the components needed so I didn't spend a dime on this bird. Oh well... Hawk

Lights work great . Have them plugged into channel 6(flaps) but they are not switchable on the TX for some reason. Anyway, had to play around with ballast to get er to balance. No plans for this. Just trial and error. Lots of guessing

Hey all.

Scratch Built a little guy "Flighty", mid to end of last summer 2012 and had been flying it regularly, along with the Slowly I built from plans. Here is a quick vid, it's a little quirky but fun.

The rest of the year, I had been hemming and hawing over what to build, and had been wanting to build some kind of biplane so after looking over all kinds of plans just started building without plans.

It is 36" upper ws, 34" lower ws, 27" fuse, AUW 24oz with my PowerUp 400 motor & 1800mah 3S. Even though so far with 2 flights, that motor flies it OK at 3/4 throttle, I have a Park 450 on order that will be here in the next couple weeks, it should help it do better maneuvers I hoping to be able try out.

I had to wait a couple weeks for decent weather but just after the first of the year I got out with it and did the maiden without a camera. I had given my camera as a gift to my daughter as hers broke, so I didn't have one to take pictures of the build process.

I also found I had my landing gear just behind the CG as it would tip forward on throttle power up, so corrected that.

On the maiden flight it took off beautifully. I knew it was slightly tail heavy but I was able to fly it around for about 5 minutes with only a couple clicks of trim, so I decided to land and do it again.

Well, funnily when I came in to land and touched down the fuse broke completely in half behind the lower wing.

The ground is fairly bumpy with aerated soil plugs all over the place, didn't help.

So pieced it back together reinforcing it and had to wait about a week for the next good day to go out and try it again. My daughter was back in town with the camera so I had her take the vid, which I chose the wrong quality to shoot with. It was also cold and I was taking her to her friends so we were only going to get a few minutes of vid. (I've got to tell my daughter not to zoom in too much as the plane(s) will go out of the shot or out of focus easily)

Also, this is the larger park that I take my new builds to, to find out how it will fly, but the gate to the better part of the park is sometimes closed and I have to go to the area where there are electrical lines running across it, oh well.

The weather has turned frigid so will be waiting for it to warm and hopefully calm enough to go out and fly the bipe again.

I intend to make a couple more planes too, waiting for it to start warming up.
