Well I just ordered some of my FPV gear. A Christmas gift to myself.
I ordered the new Fat Shark attitude SD goggles that comes with a 5.8ghz 250mw video TX, built in RX, and head tracking. High res sony fpv camera. OSD with return home, gps, and stabilization(if it looses signal, it will fly it home for you.) Blue Beam antenna. Also a cheap pan and tilt, so I can look around.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I will fly from my quad, and or the Stryker, until I can buy the Penguin fpv plane from ReadyMade RC. I spent all of my money, so it may be the Summer before I get the plane. ![]() I will fly with my Spectrum for now, but will be limited to 1/4 mile safely. Some day I would like to have the Dragon link UHF, but that's another $300. The DL will fly safely 15 miles.(not sure where I could fly that far around here safely, but it would worth the peace of mind.) The Penguin only flys @ 40mph top speed, so with a 30 min flight time with a 5000 3 cell. you could only get 8-10 miles out before you would have to turn around. For now, I will look for a good 72mhz Radio cheap. 72 should give me about 1/2 mile. Does anyone have an old 72 radio setting around collecting dust, or know of anyone who has one? I need a minimum of 6 channels, but 8 would be preferred. I gave away a 6ch Futaba to a little kid just this last summer. oops! I hope this cold weather does not stay too long. I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to flying in the freezing cold. |

Not sure why the pictures came out so big, they were the size of the penguin pic before I pressed the submit button.

That's awesome! I can't believe the distance these things can cover! Wouldn't a quad be better so you could hover and focus on objects instead of just flying past them?
I gotta check this out when you get it! BTW, I'd think you could find an old JR 8103 for dirt cheap. That should be a perfect radio for you. |

I will put it on my quad. But I would also like the feeling of flying fast, so I will try it on my Stryker, then eventually buy the penguin FPV plane from Ready Made RC.
I need to find a 72 MHz futaba 7uap/7uhp, or a 9c. I need it for better range, and to be able to use my head tracker. Plus both of these radios have the removable module so that I can upgrade to a Dragon Link UHF system If I ever decide to go long range. I'm not sure the JR's will work as easy. I will have to research more. |

Thanks to the windy, and rainy weather, I didn't get to try the FPV on the quad. I did put the small camera on my Mini T and drive around the neighborhood. At one point I got turned around, thought I was going one way, when I was going another. I hit a curb and it ended upside down on the next street over. When I took off the Fatsharks to go find it, it wasn't where I thought it was. It took me a while to find it. I think I had a brown out because I was so far away, and on the ground with houses in between. I still had a great picture.

THE UNCLUB HAS MOVED!!!!
Hey guys -- since I named the Unclub (and have proven why and how I named the Unclub), and I just bought a new house on acreage about 5 miles due north of Arcadia, I have decided to move the Unclub. I can already hear some of you say, "You can't do that!" Well, James and Brett unilaterally moved WOOF from the Unclub to some other RC Club several years ago -- and if they can do that, then I can move the Unclub. Please see the attached photos. We will have:
All inventory from www.KARGLUSA.COM was donated to the local Salvation Army. (Yeah, I couldn't allow Wes to have any of it -- if only Wes had been nicer to me over the years. Sorry Wes, but I even gave away those Pico Tiger Moths you special ordered and never paid for.) The new hobby shop will be very similar to Hodge's Hobbies -- Right down to the pricing structure clearly posted at Hodge's Hobbies**... I told you guys I was going to do this, and I always do what I say I will do! * Please note that the landowner reserves the right to remove anyone from his land, for any reason. ** "We reserve the right to change the price of our items, based on your attitude." |

Yes, good work Guy!
See men Guy saw a need, looked around, purchased the land, and BAM!! We have yet another Branch of the Unclub.(sometimes refered to as sub-clubs) A big thank you to Guy for all of his hard work on this project. For those of you who don't know, the Unclubs main field at 42nd and Garnett has many branches. Most are public accesable(like our main field on Garnett), and some are private. Like our newest, the Arcadia branch Guy has set up. The public branches of the Unclub would be any public accessible space, with enough room to fly. Such as parks, sports fields, or just any open air space. I once flew off the back of a boat at our Keystone branch. A private branch would be one where you would have to get permission to fly, or at least not get caught. This would include the new Arcadia branch, the indoor branch at the Owasso YMCA, the night field branch at 129th & 91st. etc... Private Unclub branches my have a few rules like...getting permission to fly there, and picking up all your beer bottles before you leave. In Guys case at the Arcadia Unclub branch.(and Guy please correct me if I'm over stepping here.) I'm sure it would be OK even if you don't have permission, just be sure to mend the fence real good before you leave, and don't leave too many tire tracks.(no donuts Scott) OH! and don't let out too many of Guys sheep, and what ever you do, do not let the two guys standing in the corner of the field get out. Those are both of guys friends, and we wouldn't want him to loose them.

The ONLY Unclub (in Arcadia) does not have a fence, or sheep, or two friends standing in the corner -- you taught me I can't trust friends, Brett, so who need them?!
No rules. No fence to mend (or for Brett to cut, as he implied). I was going to wait to post the following information, but what the heck. The Unclub name is already in the process of being trademarked for my hobby shop. You may no longer use it. If you continue using it, there will be legal action, and monitory damages sought. Thank you for your time. |

Did you hear that guys... It looks like we will have to take down that 8'x4' Unclub sign on the corner. Also we will have to trash the 200 t-shirts that have the Unclub logo on them. Oh! we will have to call the bank and cancel all the checks. We will need to give Guy all the money that was ever made using the Unclub name. I fell so bad, what will we ever do?
Guy your funny!☺ |

Guy,
I'm not talking about just the past few days. This goes back several months or more. You guys have personal issues, I get that. Just don't post them here. And I'm not singling you out, this goes for everyone on this thread posting dirty laundry. Take your issues private please. Enough said. |
