UAVs are a bit different than an RC RPV flying by downlinked telemetry and video in realtime. These guys have a lot of onboard computer intelligence as well as GPS sensing and autopilot capability.
The way I fly I'd hate to have a fortune in electronics onboard!

The Audrino Pilot Manager 2.5 is about $175 and does all that and more.
Its scary how much that board does for the price, and what you can add to it. My APM 2.5 package includes telemetry on 433 and gps. I can update waypoints in flight and have a wide variety of abilities to stay on station, loiter etc. Return to launch and auto land are also well within capabilities. |
