It was -1 when I woke up, and 1 when I left for work. It warmed up to 12, but not sure I'm okay with flying like that. Doubt it would be fun after 10 minutes or so.

pouring down the rain here now.
It really sucks because we have had the right temps for over a week now but it has either been foggy or raining...

I *thought* I did this afternoon - stood around out in the yard for a while and there was pretty much NO wind. Drove up to the field and things were different
- wind was 8 - 17 mph (per my handheld thingie). I went up twice before giving up... my fingers insisted (temp was ~34 f). Didn't crash, at least! Gonna try it again tomorrow .

i got 2 packs outta the fun cub. first pack I decided I wanted to get more elevator throw so into the office to try and move the push rod connector. that resulted in my dad breaking the screw portion off since we CA'd the nut on. Luckily I had a pack of different kind of connectors in a parts box. Turned out had to do a little modification to get the tiny multiplex rod to work in the bigger connector. Nothing a grinder did't fix lol. went out for another couple packs and after the first pack my fingers hurt so called it a day. was about 32* and snowing very lightly. Supposed to fly for a couple hours tomorrow with my cousin and possibly another person.

Much better experience this afternoon! It was kinda cold (~30 f) but the wind was much less and it was blowing the length of the field, rather than across it. Went through 10 batteries with two planes. All my landings & touch & gos were perfect (of course - nobody else was there to see
). I was pretty cold after an hour and a half, but all in all a good outing .

I got in 2 flights in between rain showers first flight was with lite rain so I cut it short this evening the rain had stopped and wind was calm I stayed in the air for close to 30mins. Saturday is going to be nice weather mid 50's or low 60's 4mph winds.

Been in the lower single digits over night and maybe up into the 20's + but mostly calm wind during the day for about a week.
Am chomping at the bit as it will be getting up to the 50's for a good few days. Right now is just about 40 and wind at the field 2-4. About another hour before I head out. Brian |

Looks like we're finally getting some decent weather in North Texas with a warming trend on the way. My luck would have it that I have to go to Chicago for a week

Took 2 planes out, my Slowly and my Bipe.
Of course I had to wait until it warmed up about another 10deg which also the wind speed tends to increase. The field/park anemometer on the park website was indicating about 4-7 mph when I was leaving. Got the Bipe up right away but seemed to be getting some gusts and as I was coming around low alt banking to try to land got pushed around and down, broke the prop, smashed the flimsy landing gear (I'm going to have to rebuild a beefier set) and broke the whole vertical stablizer rudder off. So more repairs to do, oh well. Flew the Slowly for a battery. By time I got home the wind had calmed down. But at least will be getting some more nice days temp wise. Have fun flying anyone that can get out. Brian |

Checked the weather report this morning and it looked like today was going to be the only potentially good day for the next several, so off I went! Glad I did - very low wind and the sun peeked through the clouds a few times. Went through 8 batteries with two planes. Had only one (cough) "rough landing" resulting in a broken prop
. I was the only one flying but I had a small audience - people occasionally sit in their cars (eating lunch?) and watch, and a deputy sheriff is often sitting there in the parking lot, doing whatever it is he does when not driving around sheriffing . It was about 34 f - all in all a good outing!

Got out at about noon today with my Flighty and Slowly at the smaller field/park a couple blocks from my place, it was slightly breezy but not bad.
Then I finally got around to making another pair of landing gear for the Bipe. It would help not to knock the Bipe off the table rushing to get out to fly and have to do a little repair job. The park/field website was showing 0-2 wind so managed to get back out to fly the Bipe which is still a little tail heavy so I've got to get a little more weight in the nose. I think when I get my new motor I'll extend the motor out/forward some so I don't have pack the weight. Plus that field is still too bumpy with the soil plugs right now but feel I need the bigger park for the Bipe, spring time the grass will grow out and it gets cut regularly. Also flew the Slowly again after Bipe, the wind started picking up by sunset. Supposed to still have some mild temps for a few more days or so, as long as the wind cooperates. Brian |

I'm in the same boat Crash. Its in the low 40'S Wind is blowing from 18 TO 32 MPH. This is going to feel good considering the temperature is going to be dropping soon. Nothing like a nice arctic blast to make you feel alive.
