Time to start planning for ODB V

We are starting planning for this years event.
We need to talk about dates and other plans.

If you are aware of any events in the area in September please post them. We need to make sure we do not have any conflicts with other events if we can avoid it.
The MS Society as of now is going to try and come. But they cannot come the weekend of the 21st and 22nd.
So please feel free to make suggestions!
As my health will allow I plan on visiting club flying fields with in driving distance . I want to make contact. See what they have going on and tell them about what we are doing.

Any constructive suggestions are welcome!

We are also in the beginning stages of forming a club of people who want to fly at the airport. And of course they will be able to help with the fly in too.

I know there are times you get pretty busy. So when ever is convenient for you is great.

One thing we are going to do different this year is on the shirts.
We are planning on having 100 shirts made.
And on the back above and below the artwork will be space that can be bought. One row of text above the artwork.
And probably 2-3 rows below. The text on the top line will be largest. And the other lines will be progressively smaller. But still big enough to be easily read.

Our goal is to sell space like this to pay for the shirts completely. And that will leave more to add to the donation we make to the MS Society.

We have a new company doing the shirts this year. And they will be one of the names on there.
These can be local companies or really anywhere.

What once was beige now has a slight less-manly pinkish hue, but I still wear it.

We are also going to need some artwork. I want to invite anyone with an artistic flare to submit their work. Credit will of course be given for that. And naturally the person who does submit art that we use will get a free one!

We are also going to shoot for more colors too.

I used to know how to setup websites, I think now most small biz/people use sites like godaddy.com or other some web-hosting sites.

I have it hosted on yola. But it is the updating and overhauling it from time to time that would help.
Someone who can put the time in it the fly in deserves. And make it look fresh and attractive. I have done the best I can. But I am no webmaster!

Oh duh! i missed that...lol I think it looks pretty good.
let me do some reading and research and Ill get back with you on it. Summertime is horrible time for me to maintain anything, busy part of the year for me.

Possible dates
I have been looking at possible dates. So far there is no date that someone is not doing an event. The best date I can find so far is Sept 14 - 15 2013.
That has the least conflicts that I can see. The other events are a long way from Holdenville it looks like.

I have been emailing with Ray Mack the VP for the MS Society in the region.
I gave him the dates for this years event.
He said he has it on his calendar and said also that there should be no problem with them attending again this year.

He, his family and the society members that came with him last year were great.
So I am glad to have them attend again this year.

Sept 14 is my wifes birthday, I will have to stay home for that, or she will never let me come again. So if you want me to help out this year, don't plan it for that weekend. Sorry.

I got out Wednesday in the calm winds, put together this vid of the afternoon. Most of it is of the RadMinion because people on the Minion thread on RCgroups were asking me for one.
