Did you climb the Bullgap Hill before it got all wore down? I used to camp there on the weekends and climb. Years ago we lived in Centerline and i had the Clark Station on Vandyke and Savage. Cheers Crash |

Crashalott--I probably bought gas at that Clark station there on VanDyke years ago, probably for under a dollar too! I don't know the name of the climbing hill there in Rose City, but they were getting pretty worn down when we were riding there in the late 60 ~ 70's. I would ride my BSA motorcycle to George Lake and spend some vacation time there. I wasn't flying any model airplanes at that time, just playing with model airplane engines. Now, I fly only electric; it is so much easier, especially in the freezing weather! I will be heading to the Toledo, OH Weak Signals model show in April to look for more electric stuff!
Come along! Crasher

Flew the Eagle this morning in below zero weather.
Made one circuit and failed to make the turn on the next one and lit in a snow bank. Minor damage, got it repaired and tryed another flight. Was flying just fine, everything working good but the engine quit and she landed on the ice kinda hard and knocked the motor out. All repaired again and the problem with the motor was in the receiver. Should be good to go again, maybe in the morning if the wind is low. Crash |

There's no wind at all and, for the first time in maybe a decade, we are totally snowed in. I can't go nowhere. I'd fly an ultra-micro from my doorway but I'm afraid I'd never find it again once it hit the snow and disappeared beneath.

Forecast snow late today, ranges 4 to 9 inches here in the MidWest.
Early AM flew the new Visionaire, tho designed as 3D entry also a spiffy sport flyer. Is slightest hint of nose up near touchdown. If it holds together will be near harriers in notime. Brief pass and bump on landing, it's impressive even sport flight! Cool 11 Degree flight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dc4La...e_gdata_player |

lol those SA's love it around here and pretty hard working in it! Several years ago, working on a pig farm 22.5' deep lagoon construction. I was digging and uncovered a rattlesnake pit, all them guys got out there knives and proceeded to complete the first step in making rattlesnake skin boots! it wasn't real cold, but just that wind cut right thru you. Never did get a pair of boots!cr BTW thanks for the good referral on seaplanesupply.com floats got here today, gonna try to get them done before snow melts!! |

Wish I had known that the wind was going to be nothing this morning would of had more batteries charged last night. |

Nice morning to fly here. Have 2 more inches of snow on the ice now so i had fun with the Snow Flyer this morning, taking off and landing repeatedly.
On the last flight it took off went straight up looped and crashed breaking a ski. On examination of the SF i found the elevator stuck in up position. The push rod(wire) was turned and stuck in the control horn. I have it all repaired now ready for some more fun in the morning maybe. Cheers Crash |

Weather other than cool picture perfect, near zeo winds, up with the Archer. Actually had this one alive long enough to make correctional trim. Sweetheart in the air, touch of speed over half throttle.
Settled into the lightest breeze, my favored deadstick, prop purring coming by again no throttle, nose wants to rise touches of down elevator, actually greased on the landing, nearly refuses to stall. Elated, ugh to work, still makes the day! Did I mention it's an Archer? Going to hear a lot on this hot compact entry! |

Got out this morning for some fun in the snow.
Took my SnowFlyer and did a lot of touch and goes. Get it up high and cut the motor and just float down like a leaf. Great fun. Crash |

Yikes,
We're not getting the snow down here but the wind is a howling - 35-40+ Was able to get out to the field on Saturday just long enough to send my T-28 square into a tree ! Salvaged electrics but the airframe was totalled. |

We have had some really nice, but very windy days.
Going to montana for work next month, so I'll be stuck making sure the car is good to go for a couple of days. |
