Is this just because they have new planes on the way?
And will they keep making parts for these guys? |

I too had the overcurrent problem which led to some rough takeoffs; Horizon Hobby's incomparable customer service replaced the model with no questions. The replacement is a blast to fly!
If it helps, my original was one of the first ones delivered to the hobby shop back in March. I assume the new one has the updated board since there is no problem with premature cutoff. I'd sent the prop size and motor speed to Ken Young at Subsonic Planes and the speed of this little plane is no joke. The prop speed is just under 50 MPH (80km/h). Flying off a paved surface is a must since it will nose over every time on grass. |

I also noticed the P51 micro is on sale also! I went to the site to buy the Mustang, but ended up getting something else for better or for worse.
I like the little Gee Bee, but I am nowhere near advanced enough to fly one. |

I actually went and looked at that before I slapped myself and closed the page. I just bought a backup Gee Bee ($50) and a UMX Stryker ($65). NO MORE AIRPLANES THIS WEEK!!!

My little Gee Bee arrived today.
Now if it would just quit raining, I have a large cul-de-sac in front of my house, just waiting. |

Since this plane has gyros, lots of expo is evidently a bad idea. Huge thread on the plane, here. |

I haven't got a GWS 5030 yet so I thought I would try a flight with the stock prop.
First charge on the battery, then bound it to my 9303. At full throttle the prop was so far out of balance, that it shook the plane hard enough to release the battery from the thin Velcro, and then the ESC lost sync with the motor, and it shut the motor off. I never got out of my hobby room, I didn't think such a small prop would be that far out of wack. I will balance the prop and add a Velcro strap around the battery. I suggest you add the strap and check prop balance |

It only took a piece of Scotch tape about 1/4" square on the back side of one blade to fix it. it was mostly trial and error.
It was so slightly off balance that even my old high point balancer could not show it. At full speed it hit a harmonic vibration that shook the whole plane, and the battery fell off the Velcro. |

Yeah, had to get one too... Nice plane for $65. Makes me feel a little ripped off paying $99 for a T-28.
Ignore the dork in the picture. ![]() Model Plane, Real engine... I love the pedal car..uh...plane. |
