Hey SmoothCruiser,
This may or not help you with your Nano, but it helped me with my new mCPX BL. I noticed similar issues with my mCPX BL that you described about your Nano. It hovered fine, but when I would transition into forward flight it got squirrelly on me. Then I got brave and tried a pirouette. I lost total control and I almost went into our big screen TV. I just barely recovered and scared the crap out of myself. The heli would have been fine, but the TV would not of fared so well if I had hit it. All I can say is WOW I landed it and decided to do some troubleshooting. I noticed that my swashplate was not level. I made some adjustments to the pitch links and got it as level as I could. I did a test flight and it made a big difference. It hovers better(almost hands off) and transitioning into forward flight is smooth and flawless. I didn't have the courage to try another pirouette inside, but I think it would have been smoother after my adjustments if I had tried. Happy flying everybody

I am wondering if the factory preset swashplate might need adjusting later. I have considered the microheli swashplate tool they sell. I pulled off 3 piros that were clean and once hands off hover for kicks my last flight. I never hit the trims again since I got it programmed. I plan on finding a true level spot with a green bubble level then calibrate my cell phone accordingly . I have a level program too and I will set my micro on it then fly to reset the trim. Might be fun lol

Wanted to share some interesting sight stuff. I drove by Newark Intl in NJ couple weeks ago. If you get a chance you fellows go watch the jets take off in heavy crosswinds. You can see the pilots wrestle the planes after the wheels break free. Right to left crosswind is more agony for a pilot is tough . The plane will weathervane drastic . I'm talking about steady near 40 mph winds with gusts

It seems to be true too, since I don't use any trim after I have leveled the swashplate on my 130X, mCPX, and mCPX BL. I have also seen some vids on you tube of a guy using that microheli swashplate leveling tool and it seems to work well. I think I will get one, since it will be a whole lot easier to use that tool instead of trying to eyeball it

I wanted to try some MicroHeli blades last month but Amazon refunded my money with the store that said they were in stock.
You got my # Beyondblue... I could demo my Nano CP anytime on weekends. You could fly it too ... My Dual Rates in Normal mode is a whopping 35% Ail/Elev with 50 Expo... lol

The part about not using trims is true. The flybarless controller treats it like inputs that need to be corrected. There is one universal truth with helis: Most problems can be traced back to your setup. Not including defective/damaged components of course ![]() Just because the manufacturer calls it BNF doesn't mean you can skip the setup/verification process. BNF |

Flew my mCPX BL today after work. I ran 3 battery packs through the heli in my front yard. I had a married couple and their young son stop to watch and ask some of the usual questions I get asked...how much does it cost, is it hard to fly, where do you get something like this and so on. I don't mind though, since I figure it may get more folks into this awesome hobby
I did a touch and go landing, some fast forward flight fly-byes, and some pirouettes that the young boy got a kick out of. I thought about doing some mild 3d, but thought better of it since my thumbs were getting numb from the temperature dropping and I didn't want to crash into my spectators. This heli is a lot of fun and keeps getting better and better as I break in the batteries.Hey SmoothCruiser I have two swashplate tools on order, which are for my 130x and mCPX BL. I will let you know how they work. I just ordered them yesterday from Rakonheli.com. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long Happy flying guys
