Default Slow stick help

I'd like to get hold of a slow stick, but they are difficult to find here in the UK. Importing from the US is very expensive. I know there is the new one from Hobbyking, but some people seem to think there are quality issues with them.

I decided that it might be best to make one myself and I have been searching online for plans, etc. However, the ones I have found seem to be built around a GWS Slow Stick fuselage - which I haven't got, of course! Any ideas how I can start from scratch?

Thanks

I built one very much like this one of Chellie's, they're very inexpensive and fly nicely. You can modify and make them into about anything you want. I added half ribs to the bottom of my existing wing and covered it when I decided I wanted a more acrobatic plane with ailerons. It will now fly upside down with authority.
