I will start things off in this thread with my current projects on the bench to bring.
I am currently doing a bit of repair work on the 1/4 scale Sopwith camel Triplane that I converted to electric power. This plane was built in 1968, flown once and became a static display for the next 45 years untill I put it on the operating table, got Igor to help, and now.... ITS ALIVE!!!!! Powered by a 160 outrunner flying on 8 cells. The other project is an E-Flite airliner currently being converted to a KC-135 Tanker like at MacDill. I used to take my students up in these when I was an instructor in the Air Force and I always wanted to make one Radio Controlled. Oh, and of course, my all time favorite RC airplane, my P-6E Hawk with a 160 outrunner powered by 10 cells. Its the plane that made me get rid of all my glow and gas fueled planes. Denny
Wattfest 2012 was another great show today. Great job of organizing and all the hard work. The new venue was very nice. Lots of room and a super facility. What was the make and model of that red jet that flew so nicely? He was set up right next to where you were stationed. That was a very impressive model in flight. Stability and power of it was remarkable. Enjoyed seeing your Bi-planes! |
