![]() Its the f-22 from here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=740049 My father and I built one of these the other week and man are they fun. Now we have 3 of them partially built. The plan it to use these for some combat type fun flying. The first one we built. Its not pretty but it flies great ![]() ![]() ![]() The setup HURC Emax CF2805 1700kv Outrunner Brushless Motor HURC 18amp ESC 2s 1000ma 30c batt (pretty slow but flyable) Turnigy 3s 1000ma batt (flies great) Turnigy 5g micro servo have ran 8x6,8043, and now 7x6 props the 7x6 is my favorite so far. again all I can say is wow what a great flier its no speed demon for sure but it cruises along pretty good on 3s. Now we are starting to build up to more versions. The first will be basically the same as the original expect I am added some extra bracing to try and stiffen it up and going to run a bigger motor and esc (shooting for about 35oz of thrust) to see if I can build a faster stronger version. Thats the start of it the tape on the leading edges is holding a wood dowel in place while the glue sets up. and the other version my dad is tinkering with is going to be powered by a 64mm edf He also made the fuse the same thickness as the wing. and we'll be doing a bit more to it in the next couple days. ![]()

![]() I could not agree more on the F-22. During the summer there's a group of us that get together at the field on Sunday afternoons for Combat. What a hoot ! Actually made me a better RC Pilot. On my second one pictured above, I have over 200 flights on it. I use a Grayson V-2, (2) htx 900 servos, 6x4 MAS prop and a thin Zippy 11V 2200mah 3S. Made a folding hinged hatch on the undercarriage to hide the rx, 30amp esc and servo wires. Even glued on a couple of sidewinders I've built two of these plus an F-15, F4J Phantom II ( Navy, of course) and a Sea Dart( More Navy) The F-22 has actually been my best flier in the squadron including all of the Arf's I have. It's my "go-to" warm up plane and I take it with me all the time. Have fun ! -Hawk |

Got the 64mm Edf version into the air this afternoon it was an interesting first couple flights as this is my first experience with any edf setup. It wanted to just fly in circles and we tried adjusting the thrust angle but couldn't get it to fly very straight at all so we just put a little "rudder" inbetween the stabalizers and after a couple tweaks it flies pretty good.
My dad is flying in the video and its his first time flying one of these and he's not all that experienced
