My wife bought me this sander for Christmas. Now I can make bigger piles of balsa dust faster.

Nice you have some tools that I want to get down the road. A sander and scroll saw is what I want in the future. If only I could keep my work area that clean!

It was not that clean shortly after the pic! Plus right now it's about 32 degrees in my shop. I can manage the cold for myself with most projects other than covering. I've a small space heater that makes the shop workable for me. The Dremel scroll saw was a gift from my Dad over 20 yrs ago. It's his pic in my avatar.
Planning on moving a covering project in the house today. (wing in the pic)

You've got a pretty sharp eye! You're kinda close but not quite. It's a Kenwood TS-820.

Did i here anyone talking about a clean work bench ? lmao I have all the great power tools and hand tools but i cant keep my bench clean for anything. I have tried more than once through 100 airplane builds and i finaly just gave up and clean it when i need more room to build. joe

I should have known it was a Kenwood! I have its sister the TS-830. Here are a couple of pics of my Christmas presents to myself. A flybarless head for my T-Rex 600 and a new canopy for my T-Rex 500.

A small story behind that 820. I got my ticket (N4EYZ) in 1978. At the time a brand new parent, very little extra money. Bought and built a Heath HW-101. Loved it and worked the world with it but I really wanted an 820S. The Heath was $300 and an 820S was near $900. I've had many rigs over the years and currently run an Icom. But always wanted an 820. Several months ago I got a lead on an 820. Went to look at it. There was a stack of 3 + external vfo and spkr. I just wanted one but made an offer on all three. Offer was accepted and I carried them home. One worked as it should and the other two had issues. I gave one away and kept the other two. One good one + a parts rig. One of these days I'll put the other one on the air. Real radios glow in the dark!

Joe you would send my wife a sympathy card if you saw the mess I make. My area to build is in the front room where you walk into the house. Messy bench a card table for final assembly. Even the little sofa acts as a catch all for plane stuff. My wife has been a saint putting up with me, and the mess.
When my daughter moves out I can't wait to turn her room into my very own man cave.

Well I bought myself a couple of presents today. A club member told me he saw some wood working tools in out local paper. I called the gentleman and went over to see what he had to sell.

Came home with these two and I'm trying to decide if I need a small Ryobi band saw he had as well. I have a large Craftsman band saw in storage, don't currently have room for it. I have a Dremel scroll saw but this should perform better.

I got this Parkzone P-47 for christmas. Retracts and flaps installed and ready to go. Just need the wind to drop and I am off down the field for its maiden.

Really looking forward to getting back into warbirds after a coupe of years of 3D. I just like the way warbirds seem to fly with a bit of weight behind them.

it blows me away how nice these foam war bird look with the detail to panels,paint,...ect..ect..,it make me think building balsa will be a thing of the past generations of rc since time is ever fleeting for our young folk in school or working to raise children....

the p47 will look real preatty as the wheels retract and flap go into working the scale type flight.

Will post a video once I have got a few flights in. I have been really impressed with the quality. My last foam warbird was the PZ FW-190 about 5 years ago, they seam to have thought about every detail. Just need the wind to drop now!

Openning an RC plane on christmas day doesn't get much better!

My Boys bought me a funcub for Xmas and my wife bought me this.





Cant wait to maiden it. Runs on 4s and has a 4 bladed prop,2 stage flaps, steerable retracting tail wheel, retracts with working oleos although I need to replace with lighter springs I think cause it takes about 2 kg force to compress them. Has so much power I'm too scared to go to full throttle with meter on to see what it's pullin. Lol.

Stuart couple of nice planes that's for sure. Love em both and they do put a lot of detail into the foam planes.

It's a Hobbyking monster mustang. To be honest the quality of the foam isn't good but when you think you're getting the airframe,motor,esc,8 servos and retracts its pretty good value. Instructions were almost non existent and there's a lot of wiring to work out but it should fly really well. Choice of 3 colour schemes as well.

I got the solid yellow. The transparent covering is nice too, but I think solid covering looks better on a scale plane. Now all I need is the time to assemble it!
