The first try flew well with power on, very locked in feeling, but it wouldn't soar because of the drag from the fins. I had 1 1/2" of toe-in in the fins, great for stability, but draggy. I took the fins off and made horizontal wing tips. Now it soared in strong lift, but was a bear to launch because of slow-speed directional instability. I found balls to the wall full power worked, but I need someone else to launch it and it had taken a few good hits learning to go full power. The wing started to fail from this abuse, but I flew it anyway. The wing failed in flight just out board of my doubler pieces. :^(

This is the new and improved wing. I've made the doublers that go behind the LE piece different lengths, the top one goes out to about 4" from the aileron servo, the bottom doubler goes about 4" past the servo. Making the doublers different lengths avoids a hard point in the wing so that any flexing of the wing is spread out. I've not seen the wing flex at all though. I made the firewall differently, the old one I had to guess at straight ahead and at the thrust angle. I made the new firewall a "T" shape, the leg of the "T" alines the firewall to the line of the two wing halves and when laid flush with the top of the wing alines the thrust at 0°.
I'm having trouble uploading the pictures but I'll keep trying.
