Has anyone ever tried putting floats on a SmoothE? When I flew the other day there was a good bit of standing water and it got me to thinking. We also have a couple of lakes nearby. One close to the airport where we do the fly in. And since I have thought maybe we should consider adding float flying to the fly in I was thinking of trying floats.
the SmoothE is a great sport plane,I flew mine for about 4 years before worn servo gears caused it to go in.I found an old pic of my plane...

I'm pleased Brian is using it on the package label.

...should I demand royalty payment.?

It really is a wonderful flying plane. Never ceases to put a smile on my face. And it will slow down so slow!
And glides forever!
I have no doubt at a decent site it would slope soar pretty well too.
I had always wished there had been a SmoothE 150. It would have been great too.

Was yours not repairable?

no,the SE fuse was really crushed up,so I donated the wing to a beginning flyer. He used it on his Cub & it looks & flies great.

I have had some close calls with mine. Not a fault of the airplane. I am having problems seeing it at times.
Scares the crap out of me when I lose it for a second or two!
