If you're planning on using it in an electric model then it's likely that the ESC (speed control) you use to drive the motor will have a BEC circuit which supplies 5V to the receiver from the main power battery. No separate battery for the receiver needed.

I am going to reformat your message to make it easier for me to answer.

But as Steve stated above, if you plan to put this in an electric airplane with an ESC, electroncis Speed Control, it will likey have a BEC on the ESC that will supply 5V to the receiver and you won't need that receiver pack.

at this point, i only have receiver and transmitter as mentioned above and a funky plane design in my head if anyone reading this could also give a recommended shopping list for servos, battery packs, ESC, motor or any stuff i'd need to start my first foam plane with the receiver/transmitter i already have, it'd be much appreciated.

As for servos and such. That comes after you tell us about the design of the plane. 5" wing span? 5 foot wing span? 15 foot wing span? 2 ounces? 2 pounds? 20 pounds? Can't answer anything about servos, ESC, motors or batteries till we know the design. But based on your radio selection it will have to be a small aircraft as your radio/receiver seems to be short range. From the product description: The Planet T5 transmitter and R6M micro receiver have been designed for crystal-free operation with Park Flyer, indoor aircraft and small electric-type models. That implies short range. Probably less than 500 and maybe less than 300 feet. |

I don't design planes, I fly them.
I would go to the store, buy a Parkzone F27 Stryker PnP, put your receiver in it and fly it. |
