Making a quadcopter, have some questions

im making a quadcopter and im looking to make sure to see if i have enough lift to get this thing into the air

here is what im using


4x Power 52 brushless motors

• Equivalent to a 46- to 55-size glow engine for 5.00- to 7.50 lb (2.20 – 3.40 kg) airplanes.
• Ideal for 40- to 50- size 3D airplanes up to 6.00 lbs (2.70 kg)
• Ideal for models requiring up to 1650 watts of power
• Capable of up to 65-Amp continuous current using 4S-6S Li-Po packs

4x (14*7 inch) propellers

4x 6s Li-po batteries to power the motors

and a 680 mm carbon fiber frame

now each motors provide about 6-8 lbs of lift, once we put everything on the frame, i.e. motors, batteries, servos, etc, its going to weight around 10 lbs,

we want to know if the motors are strong enough to get this thing in the air?, and if so where can we get these motors for cheaper since 100$ for each of em is really expensive?

Wow, those specs make for a real beefy quad.

You show about 30 lbs or rated power for a 10 lb quad.... Um, yeah... that will lift off if you dont load it with a brick load of batteries.

You are running in a league way beyond me. My Quad copter(s) are minimal and what you are planning is something eles BUT !!!!

You want that sort of power with a much cheaper motor and my recommendation would be 4 x NTM 35-48 900kv running off 60 A ESC. And my choice of ESC from a budget perspective would be the H K Red Brick. I have flown that motor with that prop and that ESC and the performance was excellent. The performance stats published for NTM are accurate. I have found that the solid nylon props deliver more power for me than the wooden ones. Not really sure why.

I have no doubt that what you are planning will be dramatic. How low you go in the price department is up to you but I guess you can tell where I do my shopping.

I imagine you could bolt it to your workbench and you'll still get it to fly.

The real kicker becomes what controller you think you are going to use with that setup. There really is no other choice than the WKM.
