I've seen guys out flying in the fields, and in school yards throughout the Hillsboro, Forest Grove areas so I know we have some Park Flyers out here. I work in the Forest Grove area, and live way down in Yamhill just 14 miles from the Spruce Goose
I currently fly Parkzone Micros, and a few home built profile planes.I really enjoy Park Flying because its so easy to just go out and fly almost anywhere, but it is funner to fly and learn with others. Recently I joined the Park Pilot program, and looked up members in my area... There are like 7 people within 22 miles of my home town. My hope is that more Park Flyers will connect and start small clubs, so we can afford to find someplace indoors to fly during the rainy winter months

Wow out of all the views this post has had, all that could muster up a reply is one, I thought there were more local people here that would connect? I have a few projects in the hanger, none of which are flying, but I would love to link up with anyone local to exchange ideas and or help as well as learn a few tricks as I'm a noob with big plans of success....I live in beaverton work in forest grove. say hi anytime

@R6_Infantry Is your work flexible enough to let you out to go fly on your lunch? I have a plane that's perfect for the parks. I work out on the west side of town and I have a very flexible lunch so I can pull off the trick of flying at lunch when the urge hits
It is suprising that there aren't more people in the area interested in indoor winter flight. |

I can meet up most anytime for lunch as long as you teach me how to not crash,...lol, I also have access to some indoor air at the Forest Grove armory if that has any interest, its not the biggest but it works on a rainy day with the right bird or good pilot on the sticks. I'll pm you with my contact info......

Just thought I would revive this thread. I wish there were more responses. I fly at Amberglenn Park. A beautiful park that is big enough for 60" parkflyers and the grass is mowed really short and maintained year round.
http://www.checkthesock.com/fields/amberglenn-park Also, I fly on the weekends with the GOTS club (Geezers of the Air) at Hazeldale park. http://www.checkthesock.com/fields/hazeldale-park When I need more room and a runway I fly as a guest (joining this month) at Fly-Aways in Hillsboro. http://www.checkthesock.com/fields/fly-a-ways I fly before work, at lunch break and sometimes after work depending on light and weather.
