Fitted a 2815 4300kv Turnigy EDF motor to the supplied EDF unit - perfect fit.
Flew it on 3S 2200 ... then threw in a 4S 1600 .... nice smooth flyer. I left of the wheels etc.

Later I removed the elevator servo and fitted separate smaller servos at back end to direct link to elevators. This allowed me to up to a 4S 2700 Zippy Compact .... now she MOVES !

Excellent machine.

If any tips etc. wanted for the Lanyu 64mm ........... just ask - there is also a thread here and on RC Groups I did ...

The $29.99 is the Lanyu model ...

The $41 is the Sapac.

The Sapac is slightly bigger and heavier ... and for some strange reason people seem to get it to go faster than the Lanyu.

If you go for the Lanyu $29.99 version as I did ... BEFORE flying - fill that nose cone with squirty foam ... its a casualty for nearly everyone on first landing ... when you see the thin plastic you'll understand.
Everything else is fine and will take a 4S .... without modification. Flies superb on 3S 2200 ... or as I have 4S 2700 after moving elevator servo out and back.

Motor ... Turnigy 4300 EDF is fine ... if you want to go up then the 4800 or 5000 will slip in nicely but amps will rocket up ..

Two mods I did later ... foam seems to change shape after a few flights !! ..., so the short wing / canopy pegs then only just enter the slots. Plus the plastic plates they engage with need to be glued better than the chinese glue used. So I extended the pegs by using BBq skewers. I also fitted a foam tab and spring hatch clip to the canopy.

The wing can benefit from self-adhesive foam door draft tape along seat to stiffen up wing joint if you are going to push her faster. The single wing bolt and servo are fine ... no need to change.

I did a thread on this model earlier on Wattflyer and RC Groups ... Lanyu 64mm T45 ... search it out ...

You'd be surprised at how much the ailerons actually contribute to the roll rate.

Thanks Pat,

I think I will revert back to the combo aileron setup and try her again. Thought there would be enough elevon area much like my Phase 3 F16 to make her roll but obviously there is not.
