Is there a way to check the Brushed motor to see if it went bad. Its a Sky Surfer by Blitz with the standard Brushed motor it came with. Who makes a replacement Brushed motor for it. Looks like I will have to replace it. I have brushed controller so want to stay with brushed motor. |

For a brushed motor (NOT a brushless motor!!!!) all it takes is to disconnect the ESC controller from the motor, and connect the motor to a battery with a couple of Radio Shack jumper wires. Something like 6 Volts DC should do it. If that motor does not turn over with the direct connection of that battery, its not a good sign. At any rate, some of those inexpensive import brushless motors and their inexpensive ESC's are worth considering. They will have twice the horsepower, and will run on the same, or even less energy requirements out of your battery. |

wow, joined in 2008 and up to 7 posts.....lol....make m want to welcome you back
.[jk]if you toasted the brushed motor it would give off a burnt smell,if it's shorted by some other means or if you esc isn't controlling the motor but is working the other controls you may need to replace them. banana hobby sells the skysurfer and under part the motor is in stock for $8 thats a inexpensive step toward fixing her up,the brushed esc is also in stock for $10. thats mighty affordable for a plane that sells for $139. before you do anything you should check your receiver and make sure the connections there thru to the esc and motor wires are in good shape. sound like a disconnect somewhere. hope this encourages you to fix your skysurfer and have many great flights with it. by the way....looks like the skysurfer would make a great fpv plane .Sky Surfer V4 RC Trainer Airplane RTF - Sky Surfer V4 RC Trainer Airplane RTF from BananaHobby.com.
