So This Redneck Gal can really go Cruising in stylehttp://editorial.autos.msn.com/via-m...show?icid=3895 What is it? The flash of the young Via Motors line, the XTrux pickup is all about big: big truck, big tires and big performance and fuel-economy numbers. What's hot? The XTrux is designed to be an 800-horsepower, 4-wheel-drive, high-performance pickup truck with up to 100-mpg fuel economy, depending on driving habits.

One big issue on these electric vehicles, that's the battery. It won't last for ever, and you think a 12S 5000 mah LiPo is expensive

LOL
We picked up the extended bumber to bumper warranty on our old 1996 Mercury Mystique. Sure enough, the power radio antenna quit, the motor ran, but the cheap plastic gears in the gear box was stripped. This thing was expensive, some $350. After checking with the dealer we bought it from, he pointed out that the warranty only covered the antenna MOTOR, not the gear box. We pointed out we would soon be buying a Ford Escape from them. He would not budge. We bought our new Escape from another dealer, and told the original dealer why. |

Note that these electric cars only have about 20-50 mile range, and they probably running less than 20 HP while doing it. Those batteries are some $15K. |
