Hi Chris: That is an excellent picture. Is that with the quadcopter? I just bought one today at Hobby People, paid $69 for it Some day when I grow up I hope to get one like yours. We need to hook up, I want to see that quad in action. I was out at Rabbit this morning doing some video work. I was planning on going back to Rabbit again tomorrow, but the brakes are out on my SUV so have to get them repaired. I hope to be at Rabbit on Wednesday. You going to the AMA show?

Went to Hobby People for some CA glue and came away with one of those for $30! All building has ceased as I try to hover the darned thing.

Also watched a guy fly an ICON A5 on Spring Valley Lake last week. Looked like fun. I was disappointed to find that the airplane has been discontinued

Watch out Ive heared that those baby quads can turn into $500 full blown FPV quads in no time.

Hi Desert Veteran, welcome to wattflyer. Sorry for the delayed response. This thread seems to be going the way of the Do-do bird.
It shouldn't be hard for you to find a good spot to fly from. I've heard there's lots of dry lake beds out in your area.
There's a guy here on wattflyer who's from Barstow. Goes by the username hillbilly. Maybe send him a private message to find the clubs out there. If not come fly with us. We always like seeing new planes,,,,,,,,umm errr I mean new people . Blue skies-R.T

Default My AMA show purchase ready for maiden

Here's a few pics of my Rich Models P38 purchased at the AMA show. It is powered by two (obviously) 450 size motors swinging counter rotating 9X6 props. Dual 30 amp ESCs along with two 1500 mAh 3 cell batteries complete the package. It has seven servos with dual aileron, rudder, and elevator servos, and a single one for the fixed steerable nose gear.

After I started ignoring the useless instructions, I was able to figure out how to put it together.

Thought I'd better post these pics now in case it doesn't return from the field in the same shape as it went.

Hi RT: Talk about a late response……Yeah, I was really sick. Spent 20 hours in St Mary ER, had C. Diff. - a nasty intestinal infection. Lost 5 pounds in the process.

That's a neat plane, Brad. If you want a video, let me know when you fly it.
