Neat. I didn't think too much about it until it said they can do it with aerospace grade titanium. Amazing!

On another subject, those poor, poor Morris Technologies employees... No doubt GE will take this technology and ship it overseas.

Generally its just powdered metal that is heated or even glued. Composits and similar things are getting to be able to do so much these days. Exciting times.

Its very interesting that they are useing a laser to melt the powered metal ,layer by layer untill they have a solid part made up, I know they can spray hot metal to build it up on parts, but this is totally different, because they can control the pattern to make a part. I am looking forward towards a Printed ultralite jet Plane that can do Mach 2, and you wont need a pilots Lic. for $10,000 LOL

Awesome. I remember the days when impeller blades were machined with 5 axis cnc machining centers. Some complex programming. Now this. Net shape parts printed. Wow factor.
