Neat subject! You're helping get their plane off the drawing board! I guess yours will be a mid-mounted pusher prop?

Thanks. yup a mid-motor 2200kv; 6x4 prop. Soon as I can get one fixed.
I managed to get two of Boeings 6th generation FX tailless planes to fly too.
i cheat though. I gave them small twin ventral rudders down in the airstream so they still catch air at high AoA.

Yup. I gotta take the DX6i apart tonite and replace the aileron trim switch for the 3rd time. I just re-did the elevator trim switch in December.
The plane is ...well.....gonna provide the motor to put back in my MiG-25 FOXBAT which I want to get back into the air again.

I dunno. From what Tech Support at Horizon Hobby says this will be an ongoing problem with the DX6i. They even sent me three bags of switches for free.

Yeah thats not a good sign......Might be time for an 8, or maybe 10channel.

I'm getting skittish of the Spektrum TX what with the troubles I've had with my DX6i. I wonder if anyone here has had similar problems.
Waht TX do you recommend??

I have a jr dsx7, I have had zero problems. But its the only comp radio I have, thinking about maybe Spektrum 8, heard lots of times that it is hard to beat.

I really like my old DX6. But like I said the DX6i has been a problem child.
Well when I get a regular job which is hopefully soon I'll get one.

Just my two cents, with 3 little planes. I fly with a dx5e, nothing special, but only had one problem with a ar500, so its been good to me. Seen an amazing deal on a dx7 go for $75 on rcg(rare) but they are coming down in price for good clean used ones.

Nice takeoff on the on the YF-23. Looked like it was flying really good for a while. Hopefully you get things sorted out and have a good flyer - all part of the fun of your own design.....

The YF-23 was in competition with, and lost to the Lockheed YF-22 which became the F-22 Raptor. I always like the looks of the YF-23 and think you did a good job in capturing the best part - the thinning fuselage into the twin tails.

The JSF was the X-32A & X-32B which lost to the Lockheed X-35. I worked on both JSF's for McDonnell Douglas (we built the forebody, or forward fuselage) as a planner and drove to California with the X-32B to deliver it to final assembly hanger.

So you think my my foam rendering looks more like the YF-23?
That's disappointing.
I don't think I have the forward fuse right yet. But I used the available concept pics including one with three pretty good orthographic views of the McD JSF concept. The YF-23 rudderons are set at a much steeper angle than the MCD JSF which appears to have the them almost flat.
Incidentally i have rendered the YF-23 in another thread on this forum. It is also one of my favorites too.
personally I like the McD JSF concept better than the final F-35 winner. On another forum I spoke with a Boeing program manager for their FX concepts when I rendered the FX-One and FX-II sixth Generation Concepts.

Yeah
I've had two DX7's about 5 years old, one primary, one backup unit. Both have been flawless. Sold the backup unit, and still have the primary DX7 unit.

I've now purchased a DX8 last fall, again the DX8's been flawless.

As far as those switches, we had similar issues at work on very low voltage low current circuits. Solution was to use switches with gold plated contacts designed for low voltage. Don't know if you can get them without special order though.

The funny thing is it's not the small switches on the circuit board that are failing. What I'm having to replace is the plastic rocker arms that contact the circuit board switches which are The little plastic switches your thumbs click on to adjust the trim. Which makes no sense to me cause I can't see why they go bad but apparently they do.
Iv'e tried moving or swapping the "bad" aileron trim rocker with the throttle only to find the throttle trim is out using the "bad" rocker and the aileron is working again. I keep a few extra rockers in my TX case. Horizon Hobby sends them to me free of charge.
