Told ya Blaze we would be the only ones around with them, 8 clicks of up on launch solved my hand launch problems here. Working on a new video now to show glide rate better.

As promised another short video of the Funjets glide rate. Nothing special in the air but major thanks again to Susan for shooting some great video.
Movie Maker was just throwing fits with this stuff and even adding credits would make the whole program disappear.
Bet I have over 3 hours time into a 1 minute clip fighting this program but NO MORE. I will invest in a real editor just so it wont happen again.

I've had my Funjets for months now, from now on I will always get in on, or organize a group purchase from wherever they are available.
I passed on a chance to get an Acromaster and now wish I had gotten one of those, next time I won't make that mistake.

Ok time to think motors... what will make this thing go 100mph?

I am using a thunderpower 11.1 2100 mah

Dx6 radio

Suggestions on servos?

I have a 40amp ESC and a 25amp ESC that i can use.

I would be interested to see a 100mph as well. Suspect it will need about 400 watts or even more to accomplish this feat.

I know you have everything you need to get a FunJet in the air right in your shop so I don't think ONE airframe will break ya

Your battery limits you but I would shoot for a 16/15/4 (or HET)with a 5x5 apc

Hitec HS60 or 81mg

Should get ya close.

I would start with a Mega 16/15/4 with your battery and get some flight time on the Funjet, then you can step up to a 4 cell battery and a Parkbec and step it up alot.
Apc 6x5.5 prop will draw 30 amps on 3 cells and 40 amps on 4 cells so your 40 amp esc will be close to maxed on 4 cells so give it some cooling air or use throttle management.
Apc 6x4 prop will give a good all around performance with less amp draw.

What do you mean start with a mega 16/15/4? What kinda of speed ranges do you think i would be pushing with that motor?

The mega will probably push 85 on three cells and close to 100 on 4 cells.

yeah, that doesn't seem to be enough of what i would like to do. I have a stryker C that does about that right now. I am looking for something to make it go faster then what i already have.

The mega powered Funjet will definitely be faster than a Stryker C.

I have a HET 3w on 3 cells and it's about as fast as a 4W on 4 cells.
Advantage to a 4W on 4 cells and a 6x4 is better thrust, awesome verticals.

well between the 16/15/4 and the 16/16/3 the 3 is +800 kv which means i could draw less amps yet get the proppitch speed up to get me over that 100mph mark with a 3cell. If there is something i am missing let me know. This is all knew to me, i have yet to buy a brushless inrunner.

You can't go wrong with either choice, the speed will be great with either 3W on 3 cells or 4W on 3 or 4 cells.
Like I said the advantage with the 4W on 4 cells is a larger prop and better thrust.

Hey Randy,

Hows it going buddy? Did your distributor say about when they expected them? The date on Towers site has been pushed back already, it did say late Oct. now it says November. AUGH!

Power System, Hummmm.......

I have a 2815-3000 Himax laying around without a home. I was thinking of running that in my FJ. That motor really made my Stryker move out pretty good with a 5.5X4.5 prop. If I recall the numbers correctly it pulled 34Amps @ about 385 watts. The FJ should be much faster than the Stryker with the same motor. It will have a ton less drag too.

lol great video, its funny because we seriously thought about trying that this summer.

The way i look at this funjet is; if i am going to spend the $$ on a new motor i want to buy the one that will produce as much power as i need later when i want to peel the paint off this bird.

CTD from what i have heard is that the funjet IS in the USA and that the west coast will have them before the east coast by a few weeks. With any luck we should have our in the next two weeks.
