I have been assembling my last remaining Funjet with an EDF unit I picked up so I started shopping for more.
Hobby People shows them in stock, 64.99 plus the 10 shipping I would normally have been all over this but there are alot of you guys who sound like you really need one of these a little more than me right now. I hope you guys get one soon.

Thanks for the pictures Tips. I see what you mean about the tips of the 6X6. I'll have to order some of those, I'm due to order some props soon anyway.

Tips,
I've got some of those 6x6 also and I find I like the 6.5x6.5 much better. Can't recall if the amps where much different but the 6.5 just performed better all around! Randy |

My thought was on using it on a 16/25/2 on 4s only. I think the 6.5X6.5 might pull to many amps on the 25/2 and the 6X5.5 has less pitch..what do you think . I was thinking this prop might be the sweet spot for a 25/2 on 4s to keep amps in the low 40's. That would be my first experiment setup on a 25/2.Tips |

Kosh, Oh Kosh...
I noticed in your original vid you land in a parking lot (I believe it was section H spot #373....LOL)... Anyway...to my point and question... Did you coat the bottom with anything like teflon tape or something? Got a coupla BIG parking seasonal lots around that are empty right now and I would love to Maiden mine near one. Keep up the great work! I am a fan! --C |

I used some clear duct tape on the bottom, It protects well and is easy to change out when worn. At one point I even thought of using a small mono wheel to land on but the plane slows down enough that it wasn't needed.

Kosh,
Thanks a lot...looks like I am off to 'Home o' De-po' to get some of that action. You know, I have been watching all of the vids all over the net on this plane...and for my money, I would bet it would be an awesome foam sloper as well. The way it cranks a turn under power is quite similar to the NCFM Moth and 60....it appears to fly through the paces as opposed to being 'pushed' (pusher pilots know that I mean)... I am going to get another one to try and slope it...I am expecting good things. --C |

I guess a man has to know when to throw in the towel. I bet that Funjet will be trading at 300 bucks a week before x-mas. By mid-January it will be too cold to even go outside here.
My LHS said today "it's still on backorder". I then replied, okay order me an Easystar. I'm gonna put 4S on that sucker with the Mega 15/25/3 and a nice big prop and see how high I can get it. Video to follow in a week or two. |

Well,
Looks like it will wait till late Jan for me to find out for myself. The things are backordered already! I smell the same environment we went though two years ago with Stryker fuses....people selling them on ebay for double cost and getting it because it was the 'had to have it' plane. I am hoping to maiden the FunJet today (when it gets light out, of course). --C |

Whos plane is it, yours? Nice video and great pilot skills there!!! What the set up on that FJ? When it go's to WOT you can actually see it lunge forward and blast off!!! Wingtips is building his rite now, he is planning on a 4S or 5S power system in his. It's going to be super silly fast!!

CTD, Its the same plane and power as the other 2 videos. My plane with F27C motor and 6x4 prop. Just kinda playing around today and happened to get to good video. There was also a Funjet with a Little Screamer Purple Peril in the air that did very well turning a 6x5.5 prop. Turns out the void behind the firewall is bad news for the Parkjet motor as theres little cooling there and they burn up easy without the airflow over it. Anything on a 4S or above is way above my skill and would be insanely fast.

Both of the motors I have for the Fun Jet have nice big heat sinks on them!! I have the Mega 16-25-3 and a Himax 2815-3000. I wouldnt put a LSPJ motor on the FJ but I'm a bit of a speed junkie. There is a guy over at RCG who burned up a LS motor on his FJ so I was per warned. Yours looks very fast as it is. Glad you are having fun with your FJ, mine should arrive by Wednesday this week, I can't wait!!
