Pictures from Heatwave in the Heartland - Tulsa

[Grasshopper]

I got to go to Tulsa today with my neighbor (Hopper's neighbor) and do some flying with Smoke Johnson and then we all met up with Rabbit Creek at the Heatwave in the Heartland fly in. Lots' of really nice planes. Bear with me here as they are all glow, gas and jet but some pretty amazing planes. I have to say that Mac Hodges B-29 stole the show. Man was that thing impressive to watch. It was a little un-nerving watching a plane that big do a low inverted fly by, rolls and outside loops among other things a B-29 shouldn't do. What great piolts!

I'm going to try to post a number of pictures but they are pretty big files so we'll see how it goes. The last one is of Smoke Johnson (James), me and Hopper's Neighbor (Travis). Thanks for the flying time James. The rest are of various planes at the fly in.

Great pics Tom. Yesterday was a lot of fun. Hope we get a chance to do something like that again. I'm pushing hard for SEFF. My wife asked for the dates last week so she can put in her vacation request. She may have just been trying to get me to shut up ...we'll see.

Tom, those were awesome pics. Maybe you should take up photography? Those are just incredible. I gotta see Mac's B-29 someday.....I bet that is breathtaking.

I mentioned SEFF to Pamela last night, told her if I went I was sure it would be without her since she would be bored, and she seemed to think we all could go and worst case, she and Bekah could go do some sightseeing or shopping or whatever while I hang out with my buddies. I guess I need to keep her around.

Thanks Brian. I didn't fly anything there. They may not look like it, but all those planes are big and slimey! I flew my Zero and Mini Super Sportster with Smoke before the fly in at his field.

Great photos, Tom. I am not going to post mine, since they would be duplicates of yours and not nearly as nice.

If you get tired on wagging around that great big, heavy lens on your camera, I know it will fit mine and I will take it off your hands. You know if you don't have a place to store it at home.

The trip to SEFF sounds great. Hope I can work it around my water district schedule.

I appreciated the offer to store my lens for me. I'll give it some thought.....hmmm.......

As far as SEFF, just make sure the reservoirs are all full and you'll be good to go huh?
