I just ordered mine, anyone have any experience with this model. Looks quite fun, and for 30 bucks, hard to turn it down.

Hey guys, I got one of these too, just before they sold out. It will be my first flat foamy.
I wish H-L provided a little more info about what I'll need to complete it. They could have sold me more stuff if they did, but now I'll just wait until it arrives to see for myself. |

Did the same with the Reflection Bipe (now if I could just get some weather to fly it in....). Maybe we should get together and you can fly your RCU bipe and me my Reflection next time I come out that way for camping.

Yeah, I was already thinking about going in that direction. I'm assuming it doesn't come with an ESC for the brushed motor, which would set me back about as much as a brushless motor and ESC combo from Heads Up. Most everything else I should already have in my spare parts box.

I already have a brushed 30AMP ESC lying around. I also have a couple of 1300mha 3cell lipos too with JST connectors that aren't even C rated. If they aren't too heavy for the plane they might just do the job. Then all I would need are some cheap light weight servos. I also have an electron 6 reicever that I could pull the case off of and lighten. I'll just have to wait and see if I can use any of it when the plane comes in. This too will be my first profile foamy. And here is the sight to find tech data in http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/onlin...=265&anid=5889 |

My Crash Sale Pitts arrived a few days ago. Looks like it will be a fun plane to fly!
![]() I haven't decided on a motor yet. I'm debating between an el-cheapo outrunner, or sticking a little inrunner on the gearbox that came with the included brushed motor. Any ideas on that? I'm also wondering about thrust angle. It doesn't look like any is built into the motor mount. I will probably be using glue to mount the motor, so won't have much of an opportunity to adjust it later. Meanwhile, I ordered an $18 GWS Rx and a pair of 900 mAh 2 cell lipos for $21 on eBay. By using some salvaged servos, I should be able to get this one in the air for under $100 including the batteries, even after upgrading the motor

The gearbox route would work, but if you think your going to be hitting the ground a few times I'd go with an outrunner. I think I just put a couple degrees of right thrust in.

I went ahead and ordered an outrunner. I love inrunners, but they are more expensive plus I'm never exactly sure how to match kv, gear reduction and prop size.
