I just ordered mine, anyone have any experience with this model. Looks quite fun, and for 30 bucks, hard to turn it down.

No....I got enough 3D foamies here. I need to crash more and thin out the herd.

Actually if I could just fly outside it might happen.

Hey guys, I got one of these too, just before they sold out. It will be my first flat foamy.

I wish H-L provided a little more info about what I'll need to complete it. They could have sold me more stuff if they did, but now I'll just wait until it arrives to see for myself.

I'd scrap the brushed motor and put on a BL set up with 12+oz's of thrust.

I think they provide all the linkages, you just need batt. - servos - rx

What's wrong with the brushed setup? I will prolly use it til it dies, then swap it out for a BL. Then I can learn the plane on a more sedate setup, and get real comfy with it.

Did the same with the Reflection Bipe (now if I could just get some weather to fly it in....). Maybe we should get together and you can fly your RCU bipe and me my Reflection next time I come out that way for camping.

Yeah, I was already thinking about going in that direction. I'm assuming it doesn't come with an ESC for the brushed motor, which would set me back about as much as a brushless motor and ESC combo from Heads Up. Most everything else I should already have in my spare parts box.

I got one too!! I got the "Wife" to order it as soon as it went on sale. I already have a brushed 30AMP ESC lying around. I also have a couple of 1300mha 3cell lipos too with JST connectors that aren't even C rated. If they aren't too heavy for the plane they might just do the job. Then all I would need are some cheap light weight servos. I also have an electron 6 reicever that I could pull the case off of and lighten. I'll just have to wait and see if I can use any of it when the plane comes in. This too will be my first profile foamy.

And here is the sight to find tech data in http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/onlin...=265&anid=5889

RC Flight Simulators

NEW! easyFLY2 USB Interface Version or with Game Commander

Based on the unique flight physics of the Aerofly Professional Deluxe RC Flight SIM, the easyFLY2 is one of the best and most realistic RC flight simulators. From 3D aerobatics with fixed wing and helicopter models to the realistic simulation of stall characteristics and collision detection in sceneries, everything is extremely accurate. The adjustable wind parameters, such as direction, intensity, turbulence and thermals will enable you to practice with all models under varying conditions. All models have movable components such as ailerons, elevator, rudder, flaps and detailed retracts. Even exhaust and smoke are simulated correctly. You will feel like you are at your own flying field when flying in the high resolution photographic scenery. The degree of realism is astounding and you may easily forget that you are flying a simulator. The highly detailed 3D scenery is ideal for practicing in follow and cockpit mode. Thanks to the modern USB technology, the easyFLY2 has plug and play installation.

NEW! easyFLY2 Game Commander Version
easyFLY2 with USB Game Commander controller has exactly the same specs as above, but comes with a Game Commander "RC Transmitter".

My Crash Sale Pitts arrived a few days ago. Looks like it will be a fun plane to fly!

I haven't decided on a motor yet. I'm debating between an el-cheapo outrunner, or sticking a little inrunner on the gearbox that came with the included brushed motor. Any ideas on that? I'm also wondering about thrust angle. It doesn't look like any is built into the motor mount. I will probably be using glue to mount the motor, so won't have much of an opportunity to adjust it later.

Meanwhile, I ordered an $18 GWS Rx and a pair of 900 mAh 2 cell lipos for $21 on eBay. By using some salvaged servos, I should be able to get this one in the air for under $100 including the batteries, even after upgrading the motor

The gearbox route would work, but if you think your going to be hitting the ground a few times I'd go with an outrunner. I think I just put a couple degrees of right thrust in.

I went ahead and ordered an outrunner. I love inrunners, but they are more expensive plus I'm never exactly sure how to match kv, gear reduction and prop size.

Tiny Tiger Moth - 26-1/2" wingspan, 20" long, 8-1/2 oz. flying weight. Lots of wing area on this small bi-plane, combined with its light weight you have a model that flies beautifully. Take a close look at the parts photo; the detail is amazing for a model of this size. The complex wire landing gear is completely built and the struts are covered. All the rigging is included, the elevator and rudder are pull-pull and the ailerons are full span on the lower wing. Most of the assembly is with screws, there is very little that requires gluing. Flight times are 6-8 minutes. For 4 channels: Aileron, Elevator, Rudder and Throttle.
