But, and here is the but, for some reason, the DSX9 is now being supplied with standard ES-539 and not the DS-821 digital servos as has been advertised for the last 6 months or so. When I asked about it today, I was told that the units were now shipping with the standard 539 servo, not the 821 digital and that was the way it is. No change in the price of course (already around $100 more than the US market). This might be OK with a lower or mid range radio, but a top-of-the-line radio?? Come on! Especially when all other markets advertise the 821 servos and so had Model Flight up until today. For several hours this afternoon the Model Flight webpage was down, and tonight I see where the DSX9 is now advertised with standard 539 servos. Price difference on the servos amounts to about $120.00 for 4 of them. Sites in Australia are showing the DSX9 available soon with the 821 servos, so I assume they are getting them from the same source. I have asked for a refund from Model Flight for the difference. Has only one else in Australia recieved their DSX9 with the standard servos? |

I'm not in the market for this radio but I have to say that really sucks!
I can understand that there may be circumstances beyond the control of Model Flight that mean that they cannot supply their JR DSX9 units with the DS-821 servos included. I agree that including significantly cheaper servos and charging the same price is pretty stingey. BUT, supplying the radio with cheaper servos to customers who already paid their money on the understanding they would be receiving the DS-821 servos is flat out false advertising and I am sure is in breach of some section of the Trade Practices Act. I take it you are still awaiting a response from Model Flight and they may yet come good by offering you a partial refund or perhaps swapping the included servos with something that is truly comparable to the DS-821. However if their response is that they won't do anything to recompense you then I am sure your local fair trading department will be very interested to hear about it. |

Model Flight have come good and swapped the standard servos for the advertised 589 digital servos.
I am very happy with the response by Brian at Model Flight and the turn around was quick as well. He also replaced my DSX9 unit (which had a scratched LCD panel) with a new unit without hesitation - thanks Brian. |

Yay! Glad you had a good outcome eventually. Took them long enough though... :\

CE really doesnt mean anything, anyone can stick CE on a product these days and sell it into Europe. if the factory can supply you with proper lab results from an independant and world certified lab, then it passes the true standard.
This is one of the main reasons we have C-tick here, because CE is so hit and miss. It will be interesting to see if all the small online sellers here start flogging the new 2.4gig modules and Rx's from places like Corona and Assan, as these products will invariably be non C-tick compliant and not MAAA approved. |

I just picked mine up from Power Grunt Hobbies for $860 (mode 1) including the DSX9 TX, JR R921 RX, 4 x JR ES539 servos, JR 1500MAh NiMH RX and TX packs, charger, bind plug, RX switch and servo hardware.
I believe they still have sets available and anyone who picks up a mode 2 set can easily change it over to whatever mode they require using the built in software. Piece of cake! |

They are nice looking radios. A guy at our club got one, but had the servos that were included replaced with a cash out. Seemed like a good idea to me

The DSX9 has been out for a while now, and yes, it is compatible with the Spektrum equipment (meaning the DSM2 recievers). I have had mine for about 8 months now and have nothing but praise for it. Nice bit of gear!!
