What is the advantage to having it read 2.0 vs. 1.1?

I hesitated to say something, but some of the posted pics looked like my first batch, with the film in place. I'm using a Sandisk Ultra II 2 GB card. It seems to work fine with my Mac. The USB cable works, but it's only USB 1.1. Removing the card and using a card reader for downloads gets me USB 2.0. I upgraded Quick Time to QTPro for a few dollars. It allows one click flipping horizontally and vertically, and 90º rotations. It also does brightness, contrast, tint, and saturation easily. Now, I just need to get my RCdisc built to put it in.

The biggy is that USB2.0 is MUCH faster than USB1.1

Since USB is just a connection to the PC, I don't understand how quality even enters into the picture ???
The OP was refering to using a separate USB2.0 card reader to move videos from the camera to the PC, but the camera remains USB1.1. It is MUCH faster to use a USB2.0 card reader to move videos from the SD card to the PC than it is to do it directly from the camera's USB connector.

Is there a simple program out there to let a guy see the information about a picture or video? I see guys put up that information and was wondering how they did it?

Default FCO V2.0 not working

Is it necessary to connect the base for the camera to work? All I have gotten to work so far is the WebCam mode. Its fully charged and I can cycle thru the modes but haven't figured out how to take pictures or video. Hitting the shutter switch does nothing. Am I missing something here? I had to enlarge the instructions on a copier to even be able to read them.

gasser 1933, My FCOv2 works fine without being attached to the base. I've never removed the film covering the contacts on the back.

No, the base is not necessary to use the camera. You can get a PDF copy of the instruction sheet at :
http://www.flycamone2.com
The PDF copy at ACME's web site has been updated compared to the one that came with the camera, since the printed one has some errors. The PDF copy is also MUCH bigger.
I can hardly see the printed one that came with the camera.

Most of the information programs are part of other tool sets like Virtualdub, or AVI_Demux. The only stand alone information tool that I have is Gspot. Although Gspot was intended as a codec information tool, it does give a lot of information about the file that the camera makes.

The pictures above my house are lifted from the video so don't expect much quality but you get an idea how good the colors come through.

I got a nice clear video with it being late afternoon .
I just got a replacement for my non working unit. Very happy with Hobby-Lobbys support and they sent it next day at no charge to me. I think the quality is darn good for a little light weight camera. Your right Crash about the still picture quality it's not that good but the video is. Have you uploaded any video on the net yet.

Default Problems with the upload

I received my flycamone2 a few days ago. Today I took it to the field and recorded some video. When I go home to up load the video, it looked great. Windows movie maker opened right up and it played great. BUT when I went to import the video from the cam I got this message.

An interface has too many componets to fire off from.

So what in the %$#@* does that mean. I now can not seem to find the video anywhere. Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks, Andrew

I drove 1500 miles round trip to fly at SEFF,
BUT will not go 3 blocks for a loaf of bread.

Wow definatly need a 2.0 card reader to upload to the computer. I now see what the 2.0 would do.

Ok after doing about 2 GB of Video. I have had no problems at all with the device. The video is alot better than the first version of flycamone. I have both. I am impressed. Thanks ACME

I almost split my sides laughing when you nearly ran yourself down after the landing!

Thanks for the nice video!

Here in this video I timed the landing roll better http://www.vimeo.com/476807. I am using the San disk Ultra II in these videos. I think it is pretty good quality for a 1 oz. camera.

Much better timing!

That looked quite good, even at full screen. That did not seem so over compressed as a lot of Flash videos seem to be?

It is the Vimeo site I am using. They hardly compress it, so I have heard.

Man that looks good on Vimeo. I totally agree this little camera has some pretty good quality for how small it is.

They even allow HD uploads. They have HD Vids that look really nice. It is free and you are aloud to upload 500MB a week.

Thanks, I finally took it back to my LHS and they gave me another new cam that works great! The weather cooperated today so I got a chance to try iit out on the side of my Mini-Mag:
