Default Funaero Albatros DIII

Here is my FunAero Albatros DIII. It was designed as a .60 sized glow model with a 65" wingspan. I converted it with a TP4130-8T motor, TP70A ESC, Master Airscrew 16x8 wooden prop and 6s2p 3600 lipos. Power to the servos is provided by a 3.5A Switching BEC.

The motor and battereies are fully enclosed so I usually only fly it for 6 minutes. The batteries do not heat up much, maybe 105F but the motor averages around 140F. That's in 85-90 degree temps so I'm not too worried about overheating. The model flys great at half throttle and is highly aerobatic above that. Here is a movie.

Beautiful plane Thunder1 and I really enjoyed the video!! You did a really nice job of building. Steve

Flying is just a question of money. How high would you like to go?

Really enjoyed the build thread, one of my favorites for sure.

What did you end up using for incidence on the wings?
It seems an Albatros is sort of a "strange bird" in that it is neither a stagger wing, or an equal wing up and down. So I'm not sure which one to make stall first.

Default Nice job!

Super nice job on building her Thunder 1! I absolutely enjoyed the video too! BTW, what's next? Martin

Never fly straight and level for more than 30 seconds in a combat zone. Just say no to red airplanes!
