Default Covering a foamy

I have a Magpie AP and have covered the bottom of the wing with dark-blue Solite. I wanted to put a couple of strips on the bottom of the wing so I got some yellow solite and tacked a few strips on the bottom and tried to shrink it in the middle but I ended up getting a very strange pattern. Once in the air, it will be fine, but it looks pretty poor on the ground.

Is there a trick to applying solite over solite?
