I have the foam cut out for a P-47 (thanks smokejohnson!) and I just printed and cut out the ME-109 linked to this thread. That ME-109 is cool! I'll build both and probably end up fitting out and flying the ME first.

has anyone ever used posterboard for these planes? it seems sturdier and easier to cut....let me know what you think, we have some 1/4 inch laying around the office

Haven't tried poster board but my hunch is that it might weigh more than FFF or Depron. Thanks for posting the link to those other warbird plans.
I may just have to build a few of those in my spare time. Wait, spare time? What's that?!

No problem Greg...let me know if you have any questions getting it put together.

It could be worth a shot though

No such luck on that. I've got a lot of flying wings that it is a waste to put a 6 channel rx in, but since no one has a 3 or even 4 channel one, I'm stuck there. In fact, I just left most of those on 72mhz with my Berg 4's.
Man, wouldn't it be nice if Spektrum would make a 4 channel receiver for about 30 bucks? |

Hey Krys,
You have to use the AR6000 receiver for your DX6. About the cheapest you can find them new is at www.lightflightrc.com. They are $47.95 delivered. Occasionally you'll see one used on e-bay or RCGroups for $35 - $40. |

Ok. I finally got some time to play around with Adobe Acrobat and my printer here at work (color laser). After some trial and error, I found that the following settings will work for the P-40, P-51 and Zero found on the rcgroups.com thread that krysallen posted. Here goes...
Once the print dialog window opens in Adobe Acrobat (options may vary by version): 1. Set Page Scaling to "Fit to Printable Area". 2. Disable the "Auto-Rotate and Center" option. 3. Click the "Properties" button. 4. On the printer properties page (options may vary by printer): a. Click the "Paper" tab b. Set Document Size to "Letter (8.5" x 11")" b. Enable the "Zoom %" option. c. Set zoom percentage to 90%. d. Click OK. 5. I suggest printing only A COUPLE of the tiled sheets and check the fit. 6. If the the test pieces fit together well, print the rest of the pages. 7. Otherwise, go back into the printer properties and adjust the zoom % Disclaimer: These print settings worked for me with my version of Adobe Acrobat and my particular printer. You may have to tweak or play around with your particular settings to achieve the desired results. Bottomline, adjusting the Page Scaling and Zoom % seems to be the key. The resulting wingspans on all 3 planes I mentioned above fell within the combat specs that James outlined in post #1. Hope this helps!
