I have a couple of 800 mAh, 15C batteries I could use. Or I'd have to step up to the 11.1v's I have. You think 15C would be enough?

If James had a problem I probably will too as I'm using Xtal also.

I'd like to try another field if we can. Do you have another spot?

I know . When I bought my radio I had no idea that I would be flying with others and in so many different places. I'll switch over one of these days.

I will probably be up for some Joplin combat on the 18th, I could take off from there and make a Branson run.

I will be running a single conversion Rx so someplace without a black hole would be killer.

It would also be kewl for you guys to come visit jeff and i one of these time in nowata. It would be about halfway for everyone.

Greg, using an older 15C 1000mah I am getting 9 amps but when I use one of my newer 20C packs I'm pulling 11.3 amps. 800mah 15C translates to 12 amps continuous. You should be fine but some guys don't like to push their batteries to even the continuous rating for a longer battery life. We can hook your set up to the Wattmeter and see exactly watt your pulling Sunday at the unclub if you want to meet up there.

Frog I will be in Chelsea Saturday...you wanna fly a little combat?? I'm sure I could get away for an hour or 2.

I would but I think Jeff and I are going to the make-up big bird fly-in in Bartlesville on Saturday. I for sure want to get you up here sometime. Hell, all of you for that matter come on up anytime.

I'm up for some combat Sunday at the "Unclub", the P-47 is ready! I'm still waiting on China parts to complete the ME-109, but I'll bring it for show-and-tell.

That's cool, my wifes family is in Chelsea so I'm up there all the time. I'm sure we'll get a chance to fly there.

I just checked the wind predictor and I don't think anybody will be flying this weekend . Maybe next weekend.

I was flyn at the unclub sat. It's air speed vs ground speed, the plane dosen't know the difference. Of course I was the only one flying, and I like to build, or rebuild as it would be.

cont.... and next weekend is the Tulsa Air and Space Museum Kite festival. It will be held at the unclub flying field. RC may be able to fly on the far south end, or on the south side of the building (the soccer flying site).
The TASM event dosn't start until 11am so there will be time to fly early.
I'm also a kite flyer, I've got as much money in kites as rc. You all should bring your kids and come fly a kite. I'm going to fly both.

Oh, someone was asking about a hat came. Paul a local uncluber, whom I haven't seen in 3 months. Has a hat came and it works great.

When I was at the soccer fields Saturday I was thinking "I could fly in this". I should have headed to the unclub when we finished . Maybe I'll see you out there Saturday.

Hi Greg,

I have a few places to fly around Joplin but I can't guarantee they will be empty on any given date. With all the football and soccer going on right now, they're all pretty busy. I can usually always find a place for me and a couple fo guys to fly but I've not tried it for a larger group. The only place I have that is guaranteed open for flying is our club, but you have to be an AMA member to fly there.

Let me do some checking around and see what I can come up with.

I'm not sure who all that is interested in flying in Joplin has their AMA but I would be willing to join before the 18th if we can fly at your club Tom. If I could get by with just the parkflyer membership that would be even better. You never know others guys at the club may get the combat bug if they see how much fun it is .

Tom/James,

I too have a AMA Park Flyer card and would be willing to fly at the club field if necessary.

If you join AMA right now it carries all the way through 2009.

I'll have to check the rules for visitors and how many are allowed. I just joined the club last month.

Are we still meeting in Joplin on the 18th for some combat? I won't have my AMA card yet so that will prohibit me from flying at Grasshopper's club.

I'm also still waiting on my 7.4v batteries to arrive from the moon I guess. Didn't know it might take 3 weeks or more to get 3 batteries from China. Must be coming in on the slow boat. If my batteries don't make it in, can I still fly with 3 cell? Want to be legal and all but may not have a choice at this point.

I wouldn't count on the Joplin get together. I haven't located a place for all of us to fly other than the University. It's a great place, but if you're not on 2.4, you may get some interference from all the communications equipment they have set up on campus.

It's been really hectic here with work and family so honestly, I haven't had any time to look. Sorry guys but life's slowing me down on the hobby side.

We were talking about that at the field today, I'm just happy to have other guys to fly combat with . I'm ok with flung watt ya brung, you had a 3S at WOOF and didn't seem to have an unfair advantage. If and when there is enough guys with the right gear and desire to play it by the rules I'm ready .

Bummer Tom, no big deal though. My wifes dad has been working in Alaska and is coming home Friday. They are having a welcome home/birthday dinner for him Saturday that will last the better part of the day. I have been steady catching grief because I wasn't going to be there .
