Replacing Brushes on Traxxas Titan 550 - WattFlyer RC Electric Flight Forums

Sorry if this is already answered somewhere else, but my son was given 4 Titan 550 motors and was told that they should work fine if the brushes are replaced. Where can I find info on how to repair these motors? If we can get them working, they could be the answer to my need to scratch build a 4-engine bomber as a winter project.

I normally use brushless motors in my planes, but have shied away from building a multi-engine model (except for my GWS-38) due to the combined cost of 4 motors and the multiple ESCs to go with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Good luck. Those are sealed can motors. Also, be aware they are designed for 14.4 to 16.8V operation.

They are relatively cheap motors so you may want to buy new ones. I would not trust those you have to a new 4 engine model.
