Back to the original problem.

Complaining about Horizon.

I had a JR DS 810 'Super Servo' that had a broken case.
Horizon said to send it back. They said they didn't have cases for sale but would try to fix it. They did fix it. They must have harvested parts from another servo and fixed mine. Similar to others' posting here, they did not charge me for the repair !!!
I'm not a JR or Spektrum fan but Horizon is OK with me none-the-less.

How can you compare today's computer radios to a Kraft.
Sure, they were solid, but it was boat anchor technology.
I paid $160 for a Kraft 3 channel in 1978.
I paid $160 for my Spektrum DX6i 30 years later.

Sure, there are some weak plastic parts, but functionality?
No contest at all.

Inflation alone would make the cost of that same Kraft radio $588 today.

Electronics were much cheaper in 1978 then in the 1960's. The craft radio was also a kit you had to assemble and was the very first digitally proportion radio. My dad used to work at a hobby shop and assemble them for sale at a profit.

I sent my DX7 Tx and three receivers into Horizon for a repair on my antenna and to check the receivers. Within ten days my Dx7 and the receivers were repaired. The Dx7 had a new antenna,and the receivers were up dated.No charge and shipped back to me free. I have sent other things back and received the same service. In my opinion Horizon has the best service with out a doubt. It pays to buy direct from Horizon. My LHS when I had a problem,said to me "send it to Horizon".So now I deal directly with Horizon.
