I bought the following for my Stevens AeroModel Daddy-O 525 build from HeadsUpRc.
Motor: 3542-10 ESC: EMax 40 Amp ESC Program Card for EMax ESCs. (I already had another EMax ESC...) Servos: EMax ES08MA Wouldn't you know it, not until I was finally mounting the servos in the plane I discovered that one of the tiny servo arm hold down screws had no threads. This was no fault of HeadsUpRc, but an EMax quality control problem. I did contact HeadsUp to see if I could buy a replacement screw. These were so tiny, that I could not find any around me. They said not to worry and yesterday a small envelope from HeadsUpRc came in the mail which contained new screws. What Service !!! I'll be using them as often as I can.Steve |

maybe I ordered the wrong motor? I just got the 4248-08 from jeff and the prop shaft is sticking out the wrong end. Is there a way to get it out the other side? There's a little clip on one side of it but I"m not sure if thats the way to change it.

Jeff has examples of mounting the motor either for shaft or rotor end mounting of propeller. Hope this helps. |

My very first scratch built plane has Heads Up's electronics from front to back!
Power Up 400 (sport) Power Up 20A ESC 20C 1300mAh lipo pack Running a GWS 10X6DD (prop cut down to a 9X6) AUW is 14oz and plenty of power! ![]() Maidened her yesterday ![]() I'm working out the minor tweaks right now but she DOES fly! ![]() Update- All tweaked and dialed in now. Flies beautifully! Not crazy powerful but nice scale flying. Couldn't be happier!

I've just completed a foam version of Randy Randolph's Bee-Tween (MAN 1991). There are some similarities... and I love the way it flies! The motor pictured is a 2712-12 from HURC of course! |

Agreed, definitely a nice flyer, and one of my new favorites to take out to the field OR right in front of my house.

A while back, like last year, I posted in this thread, my replacement for the Parkzone Spitfire motor ESC etc.., here is the post :
http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/show...8&postcount=94 Well, about a week ago, I buried the Spitfire in the ground nose first about 2 inches ( the ground was kind of soft ), my own stupidity in doing it, there was no failure of the plane or it's components. The Spitfire is toast, the wings broke in half ( slanted forward towards the nose and touching the ground ), the white plastic skeleton cracked in many places, the nose all crumpled up, the prop totally broken off with only the hub on the motor left. The neat thing about the whole mess is that Jeff's motor and the scratch built motor mount survived in tact !!! That motor takes a licking and keeps on ticking ( Thanks Jeff ) !!! Voyger2lcats should remember that motor mount, I copied it from him and the posts in Chellie's motor mounts thread. I wish I had taken a picture of the mess, but let me assure you that style motor mount is tough !! Bob |

New to this thread
SARG5 I live NC, Kansas, Russell, Ks. 10 miles north on my family farm. I have built my own RC flying field on the farm for friends in the area. THEY must be a current AMA member. We do not have a chapter. Only 4/5 flying at this time. There is getting to be more interest in E-FLYING. I am 77 years old. Started flying RC back in the early 70's. Hung everythig up for some 30+ years. Got back into E-flying about 2/3 years ago. Love it. Flying total MULTIPLEX at this time. Still learning on my EasyStar. Enough for now. Have great respect for HEADSUPRC. and Jeff. What little contact that I have had with them has all been great. SARG5 FLYING AND SEEING THE COUNTRY WE DEFEND |

Mod for BIXLER/SKY SURFER [ARF] -- MOTOR MOUNT
Question: I removed the Brushless motor from the above kit. The BIXLER motor mount, was left in the fuz. I have the Headsuprc upgraded brushless motor along with their Plastic motor mount. There is a true center hole in this BIXLER motor mount. I placed a dowel rod in this hole, placed the HU plastic motor mount on the rod, slid all back to where the face of the BIXLER MOUNT was flush with the HU motor mount. NOT THE QUESTION Thrust line. This should and will give me the same thrust line as the BIXLER brushless motor. NOW, IS THIS THE CORRECT THRUST LINE FOR THE UPGRADED BRUSHLESS MOTOR. swining a 6X4e prop SARG5 ps Looks like a good and secure mount for the new upgraded motor. |
