So far I've built a 4S and two 3S packs. My plan was to use these in a parkzone corsair (stock) so far I have 2 flights on the 4s and 1 attempt on each of the 3s packs. The 4S flys the plane but it's about the same or slower than my 3S 1800 mah lipos The 3S won't even take off and the motor pulses at full throttle. My Cell pro 10s lists all the cells to be ~18-20 mohm for resistance. I was expecting A123's to be around 6-8 mohm. Do they need to be conditioned before they will reach full potential? |

The standard replacement is 4S A123 to replace a 3S LiPoly.
The 1100 cells ahve roughly twice the IR as the 2300 cells. This is also true for LiPolys with same C ratings. That is a 2000 mAh 20C will have twice the IR of a 4000 mAh 20C all things else being equal. My Foamies which I flew in the past on 3S 1320 TP ProLites fly fine on 4S 1100 VPX pack. More volts under load.more watts but 3 oz. more weight also. In case you are unaware of my VPX thread here http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26602 Charles |
