if your spending serious cash... use a credit card through paypal....
This is how it works... 99% of the time, paypal can/will get your money back very quickly... however... that 1% of the time... when paypal refuses... you submit a chargeback to the credit card, which overides Paypal's athority and gets your money back.... (paypal even states this on their site) this is why you can no longer use credit cards as primary payment method on paypal... (they don't like it) but when you go to pay... you click other methods, and the card you want to use... simple.... SK |

Guys
I have done everything that was mentioned Postmaster thing, The Postmaster sent me a postcard saying thanks we will ad it to our now overwelming file. Had the cops out to his house he is in vacaville/i'm in LA small claims has to be in his city, he has now moved, but his phone still works but he will not answer my calls. Most of these guys know that you will no file a claim as it needs to be in there city, and is not worth the effort to get there and do the footwork and they know it. The police willnot do much I could not even get mine to write a report I was lucky that The Vacaville police even went out the first time and could not get them to go or do anything else, the first cop was just a good guy What else can be done? I do know that Like I said "I WILL NEVER FORGET" and will keep looking forever. I have been in this hobby for a long time and will continue to for the future and Maybe, just maybe I will run across him someday Jcopter |

Hey I logged back on to edit my post
But it has been deleted...already I would have eddited it if given some time so I am sorry about posting things I should not have "IE" Phone # & name I was under the assumption that it was OK, Well I guess it is not But, it is OK for him to Steel my money and I can't ask for some help form the RC community? So Hey I tried all I know, I never stated anything that was not true and would never do so. All I ever wanted was the bird that is owed me. So If by stating his name & number, that is wrong, well I appologise but that does not change the fact that he is a thief and All should know about it and to avoid him so I will not do it again Jcopter |

the problem with this is that once you track the person down using publically available legal means you get an immature phone call from the person parent screaming obscenities at you at the top of their lungs.

Dude is bad news - do a search in RCgroups on his name. He has taken many for money.
He knows to get his money out of paypal - so that is not an avenue. As I recall someone was filing charges against him. Search on RCG I think you will find many threads. Maybe you can team up and get the guy in jail.... Mike |

take any info you have,(copys of emails, Copy of check) and the letter stateing moved/no forwarding address and take it to the postmaster... forget the DA, think Federal Crimes... it's much faster... and will get him nailed much worse...

Looks good But if you read closer
"The FTC does not resolve individual consumer complaints" and only has a data base on complaints and the DA thing sounds good I will call the Vaccaville DAs dept and see where it leads who knows? Jcopter |

sounds like the borrow twice scam... someone borrows a little money, pays it back in a short time, then borrows much more.... and flees with it
its very comon on ebay they sell a little stuff to get good credit then rip off a bunch of expensive items, then hide and do it again later.... SK |

What I find kinda funny is that if these crooks would put the same effort into legitimate enterprise they'd likely do better for them selves.
Thieves are very very close to the top of my disdain list. |

The bottom line is that it would not become a sticky, due to the degree of specifics it calls for a new seller to meet. I just don't see a staff putting it up. If a seller does not have a high trader rating, then there a numerous things one could investigate to provide reasonable assurance of the seller. I won't post them, as folks have been offended by my stating of them. I don't care to hear that stuff, as it's irrelevant to safer buying, but folks will always be offended if they are honest, but don't meet specific criteria. I think you can relate to that idea. At the end of the day, if you want to be safe, there are not many new sellers that fit my criteria. Folks should realize as I have, that we don't need everything we want. Not worth the risk.
